Michelle Pfeiffer recently told the In Conversation podcast that there were “no bathrooms, no food, no air conditioning” on the set of Taylor Sheridan’s “Madison.”
“We didn’t have certain accommodations lined up because it was a little bit of a rush for everyone,” Pfeiffer said. “There’s no bathroom. Even the barn isn’t real. So there’s no air conditioning, no plumbing, nothing. But it’s breathtaking.”
“Because it was a 360-degree shoot, we couldn’t have a lot of trailers. So there wasn’t really anywhere for us to sit. There were no restrooms nearby. There was no food. And it was cold in the winter, so we were like, ‘Can you put in a heater?'” she added. In the summer, people often ask, “The sun is very strong, so can I buy an umbrella?” ” It was like that. ”
Pfeiffer co-stars in Madison alongside Kurt Russell, Beau Garrett, Patrick J. Adams, Elle Chapman, Amia Miller, Alaina Pollack, and Ben Schnetzer. The Paramount+ drama series follows a New York family who relocates to rural Montana after a family tragedy.
In a recent conversation with Variety, Cole Hassour said that the setting for Sheridan’s Yellowstone spinoff, Dutton Ranch, was also not very accommodating.
When asked about the differences between filming “Yellowstone” in Montana and “Dutton Ranch” in Texas, director Hauser said, “When I got there, it was a completely different world. The weather was different. We started shooting in the moon, and it was painful. It was 118 degrees and we were sitting on horses in all black. The trailer was not 200 yards away. So we were shooting in the wind and rain.” Being able to get into it and get through the first few months was a feat in itself. And it was a learning experience: new cast, new crew, new scenery, new cowboy ways. And we pulled together for the first few months and then we found our feet and started to hit the ground running. ”
