Niall Horan gave a rather strange answer when asked if he would be attending his former One Direction bandmate Harry Styles’ wedding to Zoe Kravitz.
During a recent appearance on New Zealand radio show The Edge NZ, he said after co-hosts Olly Miles and Lucy Maynard asked if he had any “fantastic events” coming up, he said: “I’ve got a few weddings coming up. We all love weddings.”
When asked who will be getting married, the singer continued, “A few of my friends are getting married, so it’s going to be a lot of fun.”
However, both Myles and Maynard continued to insinuate that the upcoming wedding would take place in a “certain month” and involve “older people that[he]worked with,” alluding to Styles.
“Okay. No, no, no. I get it now,” Horan said with a laugh, finally understanding his host’s point. “Just my mate.”
“But you don’t know the date?” Maynard asked one last time.
“If that’s what you’re looking for, I’m not going,” Horan finally admitted, referring to Styles’ wedding. “I’m a busy man.”
On April 23, Page Six exclusively revealed that Styles and Kravitz were engaged after eight months of dating.
“He’s completely obsessed,” a source told Us. “He would jump off a cliff for her,” he added, adding that the actress is “on the top of her game.”
“No one around them is surprised,” the source said.
Rumors of an engagement first surfaced days earlier when Kravitz, 37, was photographed kissing Styles, 32, while wearing a sparkling ring likely worth more than $500,000.
Page Six has since learned that the couple is planning two weddings.
“Actually, we know Zoe wants to do something in New York for her dad, so it’s more like a two-wedding thing,” a source close to the Kravitz family told Page Six earlier this month, referring to rock star father Lenny Kravitz.
“My father still lives downtown (Manhattan). It might be held at Fouquet’s Hotel. If she has two[weddings]one in London and one in New York.”
Styles and Horan, along with Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne, have been members of One Direction since the band formed on The X Factor UK in 2010. Despite their huge success, the band went on an indefinite hiatus in 2016.
After the band disbanded, the musicians seemed to go their separate ways, but they reunited in 2024 following Payne’s tragic death in October of the same year.
All five original members were reportedly planning a comeback before Payne’s death.
