Sharna Burgess and Sasha Farber were once lovers.
The former Dancing with the Stars pro revealed that she was dating a fellow dancer long before he appeared on the popular dance competition series.
“He came into my life at a time when I really had to remember how to laugh again,” Burgess recalled on Monday’s episode of the podcast “The Penthouse with Peta.” “In my early 20s, there was so much going on in my world.”
The two met during the 2006 live dance tour “Burn the Floor” in Reno, Nevada.
Burgess explained that their rooms were “right next to each other” during the tour.
“Little me went up to him one night and knocked on the door and was like, ‘Hi…’ and we were flirting around that and then we ended up together,” she recalled. “I think we were together for about three or five years. I don’t remember. No matter how long we were on ‘Burn the Floor,’ we were together.”
Burgess, who toured with him until 2010, called Farber a “very kind person” and a “great boyfriend.”
However, the choreographer ended up withdrawing from the tour due to his father’s health problems. It was “too difficult” for Burgess to continue his relationship with Faber after he returned to Australia.
“I had no idea when I was going to be back on tour again. Sash was on tour,” she explained. “I was wondering when the wires in our life paths would cross again. We parted ways over Skype.”
Burgess said the breakup was “difficult”, adding: “It was really bad, especially breaking up over Skype.”
“And then, of course, six months later, we ended up appearing on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ at the same time,” she recalled.
Burgess and Farber joined ABC’s long-running series as troupe members in 2011 and were promoted to professional dancers in 2013.
Despite the “difficult” split, Burgess saw signs of hope.
“For me, that breakup ended up leading to him being with Emma[Slater]. That was the whole thing that was meant to be their journey with each other,” she mused.
Farber married Slater in 2018, but the ex-girlfriend split in 2022. Farber is currently dating Janel Parrish, while Slater is dating fellow DWTS pro Alan Bersten.
Burgess started dating Brian Austin Green in 2020 and made it official on Instagram in 2021.
The “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum competed on season 30 of “Dancing with the Stars” along with her other half that same year.
A year later, Burgess and Green welcomed 3-year-old son Zane, and the actor popped the question in 2023.
Green is the father of four children, Noah, 13, Bodhi, 12, and Journey, nine, with ex-wife Megan Fox, and son Cassius, 24, with ex-girlfriend Vanessa Marcil.
Burgess called their blended family “so beautiful” on the 2023 “Frankly Podcast.”
“First of all, they make my job easy. They are great kids,” she exclaimed. “Brian and Megan did a really great job. Kass is a great kid too. There was no pushback. I have a great relationship with them (all of them).”
