Tom Burke has joined the cast of Baby Girl writer-director Halina Lane and A24’s upcoming film Please.
The British star of Furiosa: The Mad Max Saga and The Souvenir will star alongside Gracie Abrams, as the Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter makes her acting debut.
Plot details are being kept under wraps for now, but Lane will write and direct Please.
Produced by David Hinojosa, this will be the third time he has teamed up with Laine. Reijn will produce through his MAN UP Film banner, with A24 also producing and financing. Zach Nutman will serve as executive producer.
Please also marks Ragin’s third film with A24, following satirical slasher Bodies Bodies Bodies (2022) and erotic thriller Baby Girl (2024), and was the studio’s biggest global success, earning $64 million worldwide. A24 also acquired his 2019 debut feature, Instinct.
“Please” joins Burke’s list of major credits. On the film front, he co-starred with Lesley Manville in Steve Soderbergh’s spy thriller “Black Bag” and the Cold War thriller “Winter of the Crows” last year. He was recently announced to be joining the cast of Alex Garland’s video game adaptation of Elden Ring, also co-starring A24.
On the TV front, he continues to star in the BBC detective series Strike and is currently starring in the Netflix series Legend, which depicts a real-life undercover mission to infiltrate a British drug gang. Upcoming TV work includes a recurring role in Amazon Prime Video’s sci-fi sequel series Blade Runner 2099.
Burke is repped by WME, 360, B-Side, and Public Eye Comms. Reijn is repped by CAA and Jackoway Austin Tyerman. Abrams will be represented by CAA.
