Peacock has announced the release dates for two of its fall scripted series: the Friday the 13th prequel series Crystal Lake and the psychological thriller The Good Daughter.
“Crystal Lake,” starring Linda Cardellini as series antagonist Pamela Voorhees, will premiere on the streamer on October 15th. The show depicts Voorhees’ life before the events of the first Friday the 13th movie. William Catlett will play Levon Brooks, but exact character details have not yet been revealed.
“The Good Daughter,” a limited series based on Karin Slaughter’s novel of the same name, debuts on November 12th. Rose Byrne, Meghan Fahey, Brendan Gleeson and Harper Steele anchor this crime drama about two sisters who piece together violent incidents from their shared past.
Peacock also set release dates for “The Office” spinoff “The Paper,” which returns for a second season in September, and the Amy Poehler comedy “Dig,” which debuts in November. Peacock said “Ted: The Animated Series” is “coming soon.”
“The Paper” follows the staff of a dying Midwest newspaper, stars Oscar Nunez’s Oscar Martinez as the throughline, and is set in the same world as “The Office.” Domhnall Gleeson stars alongside Chelsea Fry, Sabrina Impacciatore and Alex Edelman.
“Dig,” by Poehler and her “Parks and Recreation” co-creator Michael Schull, follows four Greek archaeologists who make a shocking discovery that gets them embroiled in an international conspiracy.
The news was announced from NBC’s Upfront, where the network also made a number of announcements related to linear programming, Bravo, Samantha Guthrie’s “Worlde” show and the World Cup.
