Netflix’s “The Big Mistake” and “Death by Lightning” lead the nominations for this year’s Gotham Television Awards, the Gotham Film and Media Association announced Tuesday.

“With today’s nominations, the third annual Gotham Television Awards celebrates an incredible year of groundbreaking comedies, dramas and original films, as well as the newly expanded Limited Series or Anthology Series category, which recognizes where television’s most daring work has been made,” said Jeffrey Sharp, executive director of The Gotham, in a statement. “As the first awards ceremony of the new television season, we’re proud to bring together some of the industry’s most exciting voices to celebrate the year’s accomplishments and deepen our commitment to supporting the creative communities we represent here in The Gotham.”

“The Big Mysterious” and “Death by Lightning” received four nominations, while “I Love LA,” “Knights of the Seven Kingdoms,” “Alien: Earth,” “Pluribus,” “Beef,” and “DTF St. Louis” received three nominations each.

The Gotham 2026 Television Awards event will be held at Cipriani Wall Street in New York on Monday, June 1st at 7:00 PM ET. The Duffer brothers have been given a special honor for their work on “Stranger Things,” and additional awards will be announced soon.

Nominated films were selected by a group of film and television critics, journalists, festival programmers, and film curators. Additionally, a jury of “writers, directors, actors, producers, editors, and others directly involved in television production” will select the final Gotham Television Award winner. Last year’s winners included “Adolescence,” “The Studio,” “The Pit,” “Social Studies,” and “Pee-wee as Himself,” as well as Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, Hwang Dong-hyuk and Elisabeth Moss, and the cast of “The Handmaid’s Tale,” Parker Posey, Brian Tyree Henry, and Sheryl Lee. Ralph and David E. Kelley.
