Tina Joo C Caruso and Paris Kim, who starred in “Love on the Spectrum,” went their separate ways.
Kim made the announcement on Instagram on Friday, writing that the relationship was over and they were now “friends.”
“Several people have asked if me and Tina are still together,” the reality star wrote via her Instagram Stories, a statement that Caruso also re-shared.
Kim wrote that she wanted to be “honest” with her fans and let them know, “We’re just friends now, two trains on different tracks, but I wish her the best of luck and a bright T-riff future!”
Caruso confirmed the news via his Instagram grid. Alongside a photo taken on a train dressed as Elphaba and Glinda from Wicked, she declared the breakup was “mutual” and emphasized her continued commitment to advocacy.
“We are like Glenda and Elphaba when it comes to standing up for what we believe in,” the Netflix star wrote.
“I’m Elphaba, and I can’t wait to show the world how I advocate. Paris, like Glenda, will continue to advocate. As friends, I hope we can continue to advocate for the things we believe in, like public transportation and disability advocacy.”
Kim also posted a detailed statement regarding the breakup on her Instagram.
“The trains all go to and from different destinations. Some trains go into each other’s lines and stations, and then some, like MBTA Commuter Rail and Amtrak, split off and go their separate ways,” she wrote alongside a snapshot of an Amtrak train, calling it “okay” and “valid.”
“Both serve their own purposes,” she continued in part. “They both reach the light at the end of the tunnel.”
“These are two different railroads on two separate lines, but we will always support each other in times of need and cheer each other on from afar. The purple will continue to shine unapologetically and the blue will continue to show up fiercely and proudly,” she said.
Kim concluded her statement by writing, “They both make a good team, but they both shine as individuals.💜💙🚉.”
Fans in the comments thread were quick to express their support for the series’ star.
“What a beautiful and accurate analogy. I love you both so much for being such amazing people!🩷,” one person wrote, while another added, “You are both beautiful and kind people and that will never change!!💖💖.”
A third follower wrote: “My heart is broken for both you and Tina.” “I understand that the future is uncertain. Especially when it comes to relationships, work, and life in general. As long as you have supporters, including myself, you never know what the outcome will be.”
Kim and Caruso, who both identify as bisexual, met during the third season of the hit series, which aired in April 2025.
Their breakup follows another on Love on the Spectrum, with co-stars David Isaacman and Abby Romeo announcing their split earlier this month after five years together.
The former couple “remain friends and wish each other happiness,” the former couple told People magazine in a joint statement.
