Quidditch, come this way. “Harry Potter” is flying thousands of drones into the sky to celebrate the series. To coincide with the franchise’s 25th anniversary, Warner Bros. Discovery’s Global Experiences division has partnered with Fever to launch “Drone Art Show: Harry Potter.” The outdoor event will kick off in Los Angeles on June 13 as part of a larger Harry Potter celebration. The drone show will then go on a world tour, visiting at least 26 cities.
The show consists of 1,200 drones that emit light to form characters, scenes and locations from the Harry Potter films. A live violinist will accompany the show, and audience members will also be given LED wristbands to participate.
The Dodger Stadium kickoff will include other moments in addition to the drone show to commemorate the show’s 25th anniversary, with additional details to be announced in the future.
“We are thrilled to collaborate on this innovative experience that celebrates the legacy of the Harry Potter universe through music, technology and storytelling, and shares jaw-dropping moments with audiences around the world,” said Kathleen Wallis, vice president of Discovery Global Experiences at Warner Bros.
The one-hour drone show, including intermission, is scheduled to cost $55 for adults and $30 for children. In addition to Los Angeles, other U.S. cities hosting events include Phoenix, San Antonio, Austin, Los Angeles, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Albuquerque, Sacramento, Denver, Dallas, and Houston. Other cities scheduled to host the event include Nantes, Bordeaux and Lyon in France. Munich, Cologne, and Berlin in Germany. Milan and Turin, Italy. In Spain, Seville, Barcelona, Valencia, and Madrid. Newcastle and Manchester in England
“Through this collaboration, we continue to blend cutting-edge technology, artistic direction and powerful storytelling to transform one of the world’s most iconic cinematic universes into an unforgettable, large-scale live spectacle that connects fans in a truly unique and magical way,” said Isabel Solano, Fever’s Global Vice President of Original Experiences.
