Love on the Spectrum stars Abby Romeo and David Isaacman have announced that they have quit the show after becoming estranged.

“There was no fight over the engagement, there were no rings flying around,” Abby’s mother, Christine Romeo, said in a YouTube video on Sunday with her cousin Mary Romeo.

“You know, Abby often said she wanted to get married, and she really meant it, adding, ‘I want to feel like a normal person in the world and do what they do in their relationships,'” Christine added.

“The idea was not to live together, it was more like throwing a party,” she added, noting that they “didn’t discuss” that step.

Christine explained that Abby, 27, and Isaacman, 31, realized they had different outlooks on life, adding: “David was happy with the way he lived his life.”

“And with Abby, it was different,” she continued. “And they discovered it during this period.”

Christine explained that her ex-lovers (seen here) have different outlooks on life.

The patriarch called his daughter’s five-year relationship with Isaacman “successful,” adding, “I’m grateful for the time they spent together. It’s been a great relationship.”

“I think they will have an everlasting bond,” she continued. “There was no dispute.”

Christine also pointed out that Season 4 of Love on the Spectrum, which was released on Netflix earlier this month, was filmed almost a year before their split.

Meanwhile, Mary echoed Christine’s statement, adding that Abby and Isaacman have grown up in “different directions.”

“I mean, it happens a lot,” Mary said, recalling how she used to supervise dates at the zoo. “And it seems like their love for lions was very pure, but maybe it wasn’t quite what they needed for the next step in their relationship.”

Earlier this month, news broke that Abby and Isaacman had broken up after meeting on season 1 of the Netflix dating show.

“Abby and David have spent four and a half years together and truly cherish the time they have shared with each other,” the couple and their families wrote in a statement to People magazine.

“At this time, they want different things and have decided to go their separate ways, but remain friends who wish each other happiness,” the statement continued.

A few weeks before their split, Abbey appeared on the podcast We Need To Talk and gushed about the places she and Isaacman enjoyed visiting, including Disneyland, the Los Angeles Zoo, Universal Studios and the Griffith Observatory.
