Blake Lively passionately expressed her support for Justin Bieber after his back-to-back performances at Coachella 2026.
The actress reposted a video from Instagram user Django Degree, calling Bieber the living embodiment of “The Truman Show” and criticizing people who don’t empathize with celebrities just because they’re famous.
The 1998 hit movie told the story of Truman Burbank (played by Jim Carrey), who didn’t know he was the star of a reality show. The IG user explained that when Bieber wanted to be famous as a child and posted videos of himself singing on YouTube, he earned more than he bargained for and lived in a fishbowl from his adolescence to his 20s.
“So many people we loved have been hurt and will never be the same again. We see it every time it happens,” Lively wrote at the top of the clip.
“Then, when it’s too late, the group looks back with the empathy that was missing at the time. Everyone, shocked, treated someone’s most painful days as entertainment.”
Lively said this kind of treatment is still done for money, clicks and viral fame.
“This group often unintentionally harms the health of celebrities because everyone feels entitled to them in the public eye,” she continued.
“It was amazing to see @lilbieber fill it with healing,” she continued, referring to her Coachella performance.
Bieber, 32, headlined this year’s Coachella, but his performance over the weekend was controversial. His set included singing snippets of his biggest hits from his laptop, but some fans criticized it as “lazy” considering his $10 million payday for back-to-back weekend shows.
But the second weekend brought in special guests like SZA, Big Sean, Sexy Red, and even serenaded longtime superfan Billie Eilish with “One Less Lonely Girl.”
Meanwhile, Lively has recently received support from her husband Ryan Reynolds amid her legal battle with Justin Baldoni.
“People don’t know what’s really going on, you know?” the actor said during a live taping of “Sunday Sitdown” when asked how Willie Geist and Lively are dealing with the aftermath of this messy legal battle.
Reynold gushed, “I’ve never been more proud of my wife in my life.”
“I’ve never been more proud of someone in my life who has so much integrity and carries that with them in everything they do,” he said.
