Brandi Glanville revealed that she has $200,000 in medical bills related to her facial disfigurement.
‘Shark Tank’ star Mark Cuban’s pharmacy company is helping her save amazing costs through PBM Princess.
Rachel Strauss, CEO of healthcare consulting firm PBM Princess LLC, is teaming up with the former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star to reduce her own and future medical costs with Cuba’s Cost Plus Drugs, which provides affordable drugs.
“Rachel turned to us to help Brandi because we are the only pricing pharmacy that is truly transparent,” Cuban exclusively told Page Six. “Our prices don’t change by city, state or date. At CostPlusDrugs.com, when you visit our website and enter the name of a drug, we’ll show you the actual cost if it’s one of the thousands of drugs we carry.
“Then we only show a 15 percent markup, and then we charge $5 for shipping, and that’s it. That means our pricing is almost always the lowest price available. More importantly, Rachel and so many others trust us because we’re so transparent.”
Mr. Cuban, 67, founded the company because he wanted to “change the price of health care and medicine.”
“A drug can cost $20 at one pharmacy and $500 at another. The reason is greed,” the Dallas Mavericks owner said. “There are pharmacy benefit managers and some pharmacies that charge whatever they can get away with.
“They know that CostPlusDrugs.com is still the only pharmacy that publishes its price list and charges everyone the same price for drugs.”
Strauss told Page Six how he got involved with Granville, 53, to help with finances.
“We’ve been working with Brandi, and it’s as simple as going into a pharmacy and asking how much she paid for the past year. We went through all of her medications line by line, and we found that even for the exact same medication, there was a huge variance from month to month,” Strauss said.
“In Brandi’s case, she accepts what the pharmacy tells her as the source of truth. We have to advocate for ourselves.”
The management continued, “We are working with the pharmacy to determine how much money we will need to repay Ms. Brandi. Had she gone to Mark Cuban’s Cost Plus, the difference could have been as much as 70 to 80 percent.”
“Many of her medications were between $29 and $30, but at Cost Plus they were between $6 and $8.”
It added: “Unfortunately, Brandi was denied the care she needed for her illness by her medical provider. What’s even more unfortunate is that she trusted the pharmacy to have her best interests at heart. That clearly wasn’t the case. With Cost Plus, you can find medications more than 75% cheaper with just one click.”
“It’s a shame she couldn’t get these savings sooner. She’s having to come out of pocket because people don’t understand that you can just go to Mark Cuban’s company and get the script forwarded to you right away.”
On Glanville’s podcast, I Do, Part 2, she revealed the shocking amount of money she paid to find out that her breast implants were the cause of her facial deformity.
In the February episode, she revealed that she started feeling unwell about three years ago with symptoms ranging from “brain fog” to joint pain and facial disfigurement.
She revealed that she visited 21 doctors to seek a diagnosis.
“I’ll tell you, $200,000,” she said on the episode. “I had insurance, but the insurance company rep (Kaiser, let me tell you) was the worst.
“I was paying out of pocket to see an infectious disease specialist, a rheumatologist. I went to every doctor you could think of.”
The former Bravo star learned her breast implants were the root of her medical problems after her right implant ruptured and leaked, creating silicone in her lymph nodes.
Glanville said she felt better immediately after the implant was removed.
