Variety reports that Dan Stevens will play a serial killer in season 2 of Dexter: Resurrection.
Stevens will appear as a series regular in the second season of Paramount+ Premium, playing The Five Borough Killers. The character has been described as similar to the Zodiac Killer, who “taunts police with phone calls threatening to kill innocent citizens. When he carries out his horrific acts…the city and police are horrified.”
Stevens is the latest addition to the cast for season 2, with Brian Cox set to star as notorious serial killer Don Flamto, also known as the New York Ripper. It was also recently reported that Uma Thurman is set to reprise her role as Charlie in the new season.
Stevens broke out with a role in the hit British series “Downton Abbey” and went on to star in FX’s critically acclaimed show “Legion.” His other television credits include “Solar Opposites,” “Zero Day” and the upcoming third season of AMC’s “The Terror.” In film, he recently starred in “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire,” and is also known for his work in the live-action “Beauty and the Beast,” “Eurovision Song Contest: The Fire Saga,” and “Cuckoo.”
He is repped by CAA, Julian Belfrage Associates, and Peikoff Mahan.
“Dexter: Resurrection” was developed by original series helmer Clyde Phillips. Clyde Phillips also serves as showrunner and executive producer on the new series. In addition to starring, series star Michael C. Hall will also serve as executive producer. The film is executive produced by Scott Reynolds, Marcos Siega, Tony Hernandez and Lily Burns, and stars John Goldwyn, Sarah Colleton, Veronica West, Casa Lane, Tanner Bean and Katrina Mathewson. The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios and Counterpart Studios.
