“Survivor” fans are furious after President Donald Trump’s speech interrupted the CBS series’ super-long integration episode.
The two-hour episode of “Survivor 50” was scheduled to air Wednesday night from 8 to 10 p.m. ET, but was interrupted by the president’s speech, which aired at 9 p.m. ET.
To say the least, “Survivor” fans weren’t happy with the speech that cut into the episode.
“This is the most game-changing episode of ‘Survivor’…and now it’s canceled because of Trump’s announcement,” complained one X user.
Another comment read: “The president’s speech is disturbing survivors. This is the worst thing Trump has ever done.”
Another commenter wrote, “Let’s take Trump off the screen and look at the survivors…boo,” with a thumbs down emoji.
Another added: “It’s crazy that on April Fool’s Day President Trump would interrupt survivors to say they are close to winning this war.”
A more concise comment read: “It’s extremely disrespectful for Trump to interrupt survivors.”
Yet another outraged message reads, “Bring Survivor back, we won’t let you AF-K about Trump or his bulls-T.”
CBS confirmed in a statement that the episode will resume immediately after addressing viewers in the East and Central regions.
“CBS News will air a special report of President Donald J. Trump’s live primetime address to the nation from the White House on Wednesday, April 1 at 9 p.m. ET. CBS News’ Tony Dokoupil will anchor the coverage,” the statement reads.
“The special two-hour ‘Survivor’ episode (starting at 8 p.m. ET/PT) will be broadcast in its entirety, picking up where it left off immediately after the President’s address to viewers in Eastern and Central time zones on the CBS Television Network.”
“Please check your local listings for more information,” the statement concludes.
However, this isn’t the first time a landmark episode of a competition series has been interrupted.
The show had to similarly pause during the season 49 finale last December for the president’s speech.
About 20 minutes later, the episode picked up where it left off, with viewers watching the coronation ceremony where Savannah Louie reigned as the sole survivor.
The suspension also prompted an angry reaction from fans who were watching the long-awaited final game of the season.
Reddit’s Survivors group was flooded with strongly worded messages directed at President Trump.
“Damn, King Trump, are you kidding? You’ve been doing this all night!” one user wrote at the time, according to the Daily Mail.
“Honestly, every time I wake up, this administration finds a new way to ruin my day,” another added.
Page Six has reached out to CBS for additional comment.
