Chapel Lawn has issued a new statement after a security guard made Jude Law’s teenage daughter cry, stressing her innocence.
“Chappell holds his team to the highest standards,” the singer’s representative told Page Six in a statement Monday.
The 28-year-old Grammy winner “does not condone any kind of offensive behavior towards her fans.”
The spokesperson added: “Mr. Chappell was not aware of any interaction between this mother and daughter and the third-party security office.”
“As she said in the video, she did not meet them at breakfast at the hotel,” the statement continued. “She did not direct anyone from her personal security or team to interact with them.”
Roan made the same claim in an Instagram video posted over the weekend.
“Today I’m only going to tell you half the story of what happened to the mother and child who got caught up in the security guard. The security guard is not my personal security,” the songwriter told his followers on Sunday.
“I didn’t even see the woman or the child,” Roan claimed while having breakfast at a hotel in Sao Paulo.
She clarified that she “doesn’t hate children” and said 11-year-old Ada “didn’t deserve” what happened.
According to his stepfather, Brazilian soccer player Jorginho Frello, the young child “walked past the singer’s table, confirmed it was her, smiled and returned to the table with her mother” before being approached by an “aggressive” security guard.
The 34-year-old athlete wrote that Ada was “very scared and cried a lot.”
Her mother, Katherine Harding, challenged Roan in a lengthy Instagram video on Sunday, a day after her husband criticized the performer in a Story.
“I think if you’re a celebrity, you have a responsibility to make sure that the people who work for you and act on your behalf are acting on your behalf,” she noted.
Mr Harding, who adopted Ada with Roe in 2015, said: “Would he do that if Ada didn’t have that power? I don’t know. If he did that, obviously that would be a big problem, because he would be representing Ada in a way that she didn’t want.”
Lorne was banned from Rio de Janeiro’s Todo Mundo no Rio music event by Mayor Eduardo Cavaliere amidst headlines.
