Comcast-owned network Sky has revealed its future plans in the UK as it looks to strengthen its content following the termination of its contract with HBO.
Sky originals include the new crime thriller Meantime starring James McAvoy currently in production, Carla Crom inheritance drama Possession starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Season 2 of Sweet Pea starring Ella Purnell.
Season 2 of Rivals is also set to air next year, along with the mystery thriller Yaga, the executive crime drama Superfakes created and starring Lucy Liu, The Burbs starring Keki Palmer (released April 1), and Emilia Clarke’s new series Ponies, set to air in May.
Other credits include “Euphoria” Season 3, “Miniature Wife” and “House of the Dragon” Season 3.
Meanwhile, the unscripted schedule includes Saturday Night Live UK, which starts this weekend with Tina Fey hosting for the first time, a new format for the competition show Landscape Artist of the Year, and 100 Day Split, a 12-part series that follows a couple who embark on a reset after 100 days apart.
Finally, the slate includes Blood on the Snow, directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, based on the Jo Nesborg novel, Aardman’s Shaun the Sheep, Ashley Walters’ feature debut, Animole, Fuse, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Mutiny, starring Jason Statham.
The preview event included an address from Sky Studios boss Cecil Flo-Coutas and featured appearances from talent including Meghan Fahey, James McAvoy, Ashley Walters, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Jack Whitehall, Rob Brydon, Steve Coogan, Gemma Collins, Dani Dyer and Jamie Redknapp.
