ABC has renewed three scripted series for the 2026-2027 broadcast season: “High Potential,” “9-1-1” and “9-1-1: Nashville.”
“High Potential” has been renewed for season 3. According to the official logline, the series stars Kaitlin Olson as “a single mother with an extraordinary intellect whose unconventional talent for solving crimes leads to an unusual and unstoppable partnership with an experienced detective (Daniel Sunjata).” The series is created by Drew Godard, who serves as executive producer with Sarah Esberg of Goddard Textiles, and showrunners Todd Harthan, Mark Halsey, and Olson.
“9-1-1” will return for Season 10. Created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and showrunner Tim Minear, the series “depicts the high-pressure experiences of first responders, including police officers, firefighters, and dispatchers, who are forced into the most horrifying, shocking, and heart-stopping situations,” according to the official logline. “These emergency responders must balance saving the most vulnerable people with solving problems in their own lives.” Based on the real lives of their counterparts.” The cast includes Angela Bassett, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Oliver Stark, Kenneth Choi, Aisha Hines, Ryan Guzman, and Gavin McHugh. Executive producers include Murphy, Falchuk, Miner, Bassett, Peter Krauss, John J. Gray, Brad Buecker, Lindsey Beaulieu, Ted Griffen and Robert M. Williams.
“9-1-1: Nashville” is returning for a second season. The latest installment in the 9-1-1 series follows first responders through both their work and “the story of a family of power and glamor set in one of America’s most diverse and dynamic cities,” according to the official logline. The cast includes Chris O’Donnell, Jessica Capshaw, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, LeAnn Rimes, Haley Kilgore, Michael Provost, Juani Feliz, and Hunter McVeigh. Executive producers include Murphy, Falchuk, Minear, Bassett, Buecker, Chris O’Donnell, and showrunner Rashad Raisani.
This update comes after the previously announced season 6 greenlighting of “Abbott Elementary.”
