She’s someone’s girl.
After months of dating rumors, the status of Tate McRae’s relationship with Olympic hockey player Jack Hughes has finally been revealed.
“Tate and Jack are dating,” a source told Us Weekly on Wednesday. “They started seeing each other casually late last year, so they’re still new, but they’re seeing each other exclusively.”
According to a source, McRae, 22, and Hughes, 24, connected after the athlete “first messaged her on IG and started a conversation.”
“[Tate]thinks[Jack]is a really cool guy and they have a lot of fun together,” the source continued. “She has been very supportive of his career and loves going to games and cheering him on.”
The artist and the New Jersey Devils star’s relationship first surfaced in December 2025, after McRae attended Hughes’ hockey game at Newark’s Prudential Center.
After the match, the two were spotted out together in New York City.
“They’re managing to make it through this busy season, but they’re hoping to spend more time together next month when the season ends,” a source told Us Weekly. “Tate considers himself to be a really sweet person and things are going well so far.”
But this isn’t the first time McRae has had a high-profile romance.
She previously dated fellow singer The Kid LaRoy from 2024 for over a year, and NHL player Cole Schillinger from 2021 to 2023. Her song “It’s OK I’m OK” was widely speculated to be about the former athlete.
Who is her new lover? Hughes has been on the verge of making Olympic history since scoring the overtime goal that secured Team USA’s gold medal against Canada last month.
The ice legend, who was drafted No. 1 overall by the New Jersey Devils in 2019, will conclude his hockey season with the team in mid-April.
Meanwhile, McRae is busy with his career.
The pop star wrapped up her Miss Possessive tour in November, and a month later appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone in a tiny designer bikini.
McRae first burst onto the scene in 2016 when she placed third on “So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation.” Since then, she signed with RCA Records in 2019 and released three studio albums, including viral hits like “Greedy,” “Sports Car,” “Exes,” and “You Broke Me First.”
