Director Freemantle has released the first look images of “The Season,” a glossy Hong Kong-set drama produced by PCCW Media in collaboration with SK Global, the production company behind “Crazy Rich Asians,” “Thai Cave Rescue,” and “Delhi Crime.”

The six-episode English-language series will debut on Viu this summer as a Viu Original, reaching audiences in Asia, the Middle East and South Africa, and will be available on Hulu for viewers in the United States. Fremantle is handling international sales with support from De Maio Entertainment.

The show centers on an established socialite whose idyllic boating season is upended when a young outsider enters their world. As the summer wears on, hidden secrets are revealed, alliances shift, and personal ambitions begin to reshape relationships in unexpected ways.

The cast includes Jessie Mei Lee (Shadow and Bone), three-time Golden Horse Award winner Karena Lam, Chris Pang (Interior Chinatown), Justin Chen (The Brothers Son), Yvonne Chapman (Avatar: The Last Airbender), Serena Jade (Wolf Warrior 2), and Toby Stevens (Percy Jackson and the Olympians). Rounding out the ensemble are Rising Stars of Asia Award 2025 winner Kōki, Lee Jae Yoon (Physical 100 S2) and Kingmaker winner Liman Hung, with special appearances by Hong Kong stars Anson Lo from Mirror and Murph Yau from Color.

Yarun Tu, who co-created the Prime Video Japan series “My Undead Yokai Girlfriend” and whose credits include “NCIS: Hawaii” and “Wu Assassins,” serves as creator and executive producer. Chilean director Marialie Rivas (The Pier) will lead the director’s team and serve as executive producer. For PCCW Media, Janice Lee and Agatha Law are executive producing, while for SK Global, Chloe Dunn, Matt Aragachi and Dylan Tarason are serving in the same roles.
