Savannah Guthrie’s husband, Mike Feldman, quietly visited Today to thank his colleagues for their outpouring of support during the desperate search for his mother.
I heard that Savannah’s family has been overwhelmed by the love from her NBC colleagues since Nancy Guthrie went missing from her home nearly a month ago.
“From the top to the bottom of the company, it’s more than just a workplace,” a source close to Savannah told Page Six.
Savannah’s colleagues added, “They’re asking, ‘Can we send clothing, can we arrange for food? Can we bring our children? Can we create a temporary diversion to help our family get through this?'” That love is real. ”
Mr. Feldman visited “Today” about two weeks ago, and a person present called the meeting “very emotional.”
“There were many tears,” they said.
They added that he was there simply to thank him on his wife’s behalf.
Because Savannah’s family was isolated and their interactions were primarily with each other and with law enforcement, “it was great for him to see everyone’s eyes and vice versa.”
“It was a large group, so he went around thanking everyone and giving lots of hugs,” the source said. “This is an extension of their family, and it’s never been more of an extension of their family than right now. They’re more than coworkers. The tears were real, and (coworkers) are struggling too.”
The first source told Savannah that she is “too overwhelmed to respond to anyone right now, but she is seeing messages and hearing prayers.”
Meanwhile, Feldman is traveling back and forth from New York to Arizona, where Savannah is with her family, as the search for Nancy, who went missing on February 1, continues.
Savannah continues to be absent from the “Today” show, with former co-anchor Hoda Kotb taking her place. Sources say returning to work is the furthest thing from Savannah’s mind at this point.
Savannah last addressed the nation in a video posted on February 15, in which she urged her mother’s kidnappers to “do the right thing… it’s not too late.” During that time, “the family had never prayed so much,” the first source said. “She is the chief religious officer in her family and (her faith) is as strong as ever.”
