A$AP Rocky needs to continue taking a bow.
The rapper managed to celebrate Rihanna’s 38th birthday with a surprise on Friday.
The couple dined at Giorgio Baldi Restaurant in Santa Monica, California, where the “Diamonds” artist wore a sheer black dress with matching heels and a faux fur jacket.
Rocky, born Rakim Mayers, opted for a checked shirt, tan pants and shades.
The private room was decorated with silver balloons with the words “Happy Birthday” written on them, and many red, white, green, and blue balloons floated above the table.
There was a light blue tablecloth and flowers on the table.
Rihanna and Rocky, 37, have been a power couple ever since their relationship was first reported in November 2020.
Earlier this month, the fashion designer cheekily responded when a young student asked her if she was married to the Grammy Award winner, with whom she shares children RZA, 3 months, Riot, 2, and Rocky, 3 months.
“That’s an interesting question,” Rocky answered on the Feb. 4 episode of “Celebrity Substitute.” “You want Rihanna, don’t you? Well, you got me. You got me today.”
Over the years, the two have called each other husband and wife.
Despite avoiding investigation, the artist certainly shared his children’s love of music.
“We listen to all kinds of music to the kids, from Michael Jackson and other old classical music to psychedelic music,” Rocky told the students. “The Beatles, of course. There’s also a lot of reggae. We live in a musical family, so it’s very diverse.”
The couple welcomed their third child, a daughter, in September, four months after the “Umbrella” songstress announced her pregnancy at the 2025 Met Gala in May.
At the time, Rocky told reporters it was a “great feeling” to be adding to his family.
“It’s time to show people what we have in store,” he exclaimed. “And I’m glad that everyone is happy for us, because we’re definitely happy.”
In February 2025, Rihanna candidly said that “every decision” she makes now revolves around her children.
“So I feel this weird resentment towards the things that I love. I feel like something is always suffering just to show up somewhere,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “And even if it shows up there, it’s not 100% because there’s something else on the handle. In fact, it’s giving me more self-blame. I don’t like letting people down, but I also know that most of it is letting myself down. That means something has to change, but everything is always on the handle.”
Rihanna added about motherhood, “I always have to remind myself that I asked for this and I love this.” “I’m trying to find a balance so that you can feel fulfilled without feeling guilty.”
And two years earlier, in 2023, the hitmaker reflected on starting a family with her partner.
“We’re best friends who also have a baby,” Rihanna explained to British Vogue. “We have to be on the same page, but I’ve always felt that in our relationship. When you have a baby, everything changes. But I won’t say it did anything, but it brought us closer together.”
