John Malkovich will star opposite Joel Kinnaman in the Amazon Prime Video series “Bishop,” Variety has confirmed.
The show aired on Prime Video in September 2025. According to the official logline, “Homicide Detective Bishop Graves (Kinnaman) is a brilliant, battle-scarred man who will put all of his skills to the test as he tracks down an elusive killer targeting San Francisco’s wealthy.” As the emboldened killer gains a cult following among the city’s helpless people, Bishop becomes convinced that these murders are connected to his own father, the most powerful man in science fiction.”Lincoln Graves (Malkovich)”
Malkovich is a very famous actor known for his roles in film, television, and stage. His recent television appearances include shows such as Netflix’s “Space Force,” Showtime’s “Billions” and HBO’s “The New Pope.” He has been nominated for two Academy Awards. One is “In the Line of Fire” and the other is “Places in the Heart.”
He has also been nominated for three Emmy Awards, winning once for the 1986 made-for-TV movie version of Death of a Salesman. His other notable on-screen roles include “Being John Malkovich,” “Burn After Reading,” and “Of Mice and Men.” His stage work also includes numerous collaborations with Chicago’s Steppenwolf Theater Company.

“Bishop” hails from co-creators and executive producers Little Marvin and Tony Saltzman, with Little Marvin also serving as showrunner. Roy Lee will also serve as executive producer along with Vertigo’s Miri Yun. The film will be produced by Amazon MGM Studios, which has an overall contract with Little Marvin.
