Congratulations to Nick Viall and his wife Natalie Joy!
The couple announced that they are expecting twins, just months after announcing they had suffered three miscarriages in one year.
“Our rainbow babies are finally ready to join us. This time they’re twins ππ,” they captioned a joint Instagram announcement on Wednesday.
The parents shared a photo of Joy kissing their two-year-old daughter River Rose while cradling her growing baby bump. In their hands were Joy’s ultrasound photos.
“It’s surreal. It feels like a dream come true,” Natalie, 26, told E! News was the first to report the “Viall Files” host’s happy news.
“I can’t believe I get to say out loud that I’m pregnant, that I’m this far along and that I’m having twins. It’s crazy for me. It feels like a fever dream,” Joy continued.
The couple couldn’t contain their excitement at the prospect of having a child in the future after Joy’s difficult pregnancy journey.
Viall revealed that Joy suffered her third miscarriage when explaining her absence from the show during an August episode of the podcast.
“As you can see, Natalie is not with us. There’s no easy way to talk about this. …Sadly, Natalie has had another miscarriage. It’s her third time this year, and it’s our third time this year. There’s really no good way to put it. It really sucks,” Viall, 45, said at the time.
“She’s obviously resting and healing both physically and mentally at home,” he added, emphasizing that the couple wanted to be “vulnerable” and “open” with the audience.
“Our family is getting stronger and stronger, and we hope to someday have a fourth child, and then we’ll have all the babies we lost back,” she said Wednesday.
Regarding the baby she lost last year, the influencer said she and the “Bachelor” alum “just like us, I think these babies weren’t ready for us yet.”
“When they’re ready, they’ll come,” she continued.
The podcaster told the show that he learned the good news after Joy returned home from a doctor’s appointment, but Viall was unable to attend the appointment because she couldn’t find a babysitter for her daughter.
“She walks in the door and she’s crying, so I’m just guessing the bad news. And then she told me about the twins, and it was a really surreal moment, to be honest. I went from thinking, ‘Oh, even worse news,’ to, ‘Oh my god, there’s two of them,'” he recalled.
Reflecting on the loss, her husband added, “The anxiety we have is natural and understandable” after experiencing the loss of a pregnancy.
However, this time, the pair shared that they are focusing on the “positive side” and said, “We have a lot to be thankful for.”
