Porsha Williams has denied rumors that she is engaged to girlfriend Patrice “Sway” McKinney.
The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star reshared a fiery Instagram Story originally posted by her partner in which she denied her engagement to Williams and slammed gossip blogs for perpetuating the rumors.
Regarding the AI image depicting the couple’s engagement, McKinney said, “Seriously, does that photo look like me? (shakes head) Obviously AI law! Don’t believe everything people see 🙄.”
“It’s crazy that a blog run by a low-income individual with a low budget can make up completely false stories and people will believe them. (shakes head).”
A photo surfaced over the weekend that appears to show Williams holding hands with McKinney while holding up a giant diamond sparkler.
Some fans on social media believed the digitally altered photo was real, prompting the couple to clarify things.
Williams confirmed that she had a date with McKinney in November 2025 at a merry-go-round celebrating the entrepreneur’s birthday.
“Happy birthday @sway_thepro. I hope this year brings you everything you want and more! 🥂🍾 Can’t wait to be in action on Saturday!” Williams wrote.
Just a month ago, she teased their relationship during an appearance at Culture Con in New York City.
Shortly after, Internet sleuths identified the woman as McKinney.
McKinney is Williams’ first public relationship with a woman, although the reality show hinted that she would be “dating a woman” following her divorce from Simon Gbadia.
Williams will marry Guovadia in 2022. After 14 months of marriage, they filed for divorce, which was finalized in June 2025.
