The long-term partner of Mick Jagger’s granddaughter has been found dead at sea and is believed to have died.
On Sunday afternoon, Britain’s Devon and Cornwall Police released a tragic update on the manhunt for 37-year-old Alexander Key, who has two children with Ashish Jackson, the Rolling Stone frontman’s granddaughter.
An update posted on Facebook said: “Officers searching for a missing man in Boscastle have discovered his body in Bude.”
“Officers and the Coastguard were called at around 6.30pm yesterday, January 31, after the body of a man was found in the sea off Bude. Unfortunately the man died at the scene.”
The police department added: “Although formal identification has not yet been made, officers believe this person is 37-year-old Alexander Key, who went missing on January 24th.”
Police said the death is “not being treated as suspicious” and an autopsy will be performed.
“Mr. Key’s family would like to thank the police and coast guard and all those who assisted in the search for Mr. Key for their efforts. They ask that their privacy be respected at this difficult time,” police concluded.
Representatives for the Jaguars did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Jackson’s mother is Mick’s daughter Jade Jagger (82).
Devon and Cornwall Police previously said Key was last seen in the late afternoon of January 24, walking past the Wellington pub on the Old Road towards the Valency River in the direction of Boscastle Harbour.
Surveillance camera footage showed the chef wearing a red patterned jacket under a blue anorak, hood up, light-colored pants and black sneakers. he was alone.
“Alexander is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a medium build, light peroxide blonde hair, and typically wearing light colored clothing,” police said, urging the public to contact them if they have any information that could help.
Police initially said Key was last seen on January 23 at around 2.30pm local time at the Spiderweb Inn pub in Boscastle.
Surveillance camera photos showed him sitting at the bar. He appeared to be there alone, but other patrons were seated near him.
About an hour later, Key was seen leaving the pub alone, hands in his pockets, on foot.
He was wearing the same red patterned jacket, blue jeans, and white sneakers. He also boasted long platinum blonde hair.
“Police are becoming increasingly concerned,” a post on the department’s Facebook page said in part.
Along with the surveillance camera photos, Kumoweb Inn also posted about Key’s disappearance, stressing that “his family is very worried.”
Jade, 54, also shared on Instagram a screenshot of the police department’s initial memo regarding Key.
Since then, she hasn’t posted about the situation, while her daughter, 33, hasn’t posted at all.
