“Now is Our Moment” from Hunter/x and Netflix’s megahit “KPop Demon Hunters.”
“KPop Demon Hunter” singers EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Lei Ami can add Grammy winners to their list of honors. Their song “Golden” was performed at an awards ceremony before the television broadcast on Sunday afternoon and won the award for Best Song Written for Visual Media. The song, sung by three singers and written by EJAE, Mark Sonnenblick, DO, 24, and Teddy, was nominated for four Grammy Awards.
This is the first K-pop song to win a Grammy Award. This year, Blackpink singer Rosé was nominated in three categories for her song “APT” with Bruno Mars, including Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Pop Duo or Group Performance. BTS has received five nominations in the group’s career, but has yet to win an award.
In the visual media category, “Golden” beat out “As Alive As You Need Me To Be” (Nine Inch Nails), “I Lied to You” (Miles Caton), “Never Too Late” (Elton John, Brandi Carlile), “Pale, Pale Moon” (Jamie Lawson), and “Sinners” (Leonard Denisenko, Rodarius Green, Travis).
“Golden” has been shortlisted for song of the year and will be featured on the evening television broadcast. It was nominated for two other categories, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Remix Recording, but was eliminated before the show aired on television.
Although the group did not perform at the Grammys, Nuna previously spoke about the importance of the nomination. “You’re going to see the faces of three Korean people, and it gives me chills to think about the kids who are going to see that and hopefully have a better understanding of what they can do in this world,” she said.
EJAE made history as the first Korean-American female songwriter to be nominated for Song of the Year.
Since its premiere on Netflix in June, the viewership ratings for “KPop Demon Hunters” have been steadily increasing. Netflix titles were the most streamed movies of 2025, logging a staggering 20.5 billion minutes of viewing time in the U.S. alone, according to year-end data from Nielsen. Divide this by the movie’s running time of 99 minutes and you get 207 million full views of the movie.
The film, produced by Sony Pictures Animation, topped the year-end charts despite debuting in June, mid-2025. Netflix has given some limited theatrical releases due to the surge in popularity on the streaming platform. Meanwhile, three of the original songs, “Golden,” “Your Idol,” and “Soda Pop” are mainstays on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.
“Golden” was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song and is considered a frontrunner. Hunter/x will join the “Sinners” team for “I Lied to You” as one of two performances during the show.
