Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry made a surprise appearance at the Sundance Film Festival.
It was the premiere of their new documentary Cookie Queens.
The film follows the lives of Girl Scouts during cookie selling season.
On Saturday night, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry arrived at the Sundance Film Festival for the premiere of Cookie Queens. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are executive producers on the film through Archewell Productions and were photographed with director Alisa Nahmias, festival director Eugene Hernandez and Amy Redford.
For the big night in Park City, Utah, Meghan wore an all-black ensemble consisting of a long-sleeved sweater, flared jeans, and point-toe boots. Later, she was seen wearing a dark brown coat over it while greeting some of the girls appearing in the film. Harry was wearing jeans, a black shirt and a down vest.
The film follows four Girl Scouts, Ara, Olive, Nikki, and Shannon Elizabeth, as they strive to be the best seller of cookie season.
A press release for the film reads, “Charming, candid, and heartfelt, this film follows four girls, ages 5 to 12, and their families as they navigate a whirlwind year of sales, hard work, and success.” “For Girl Scouts, selling cookies is about more than Thin Mints and sisterhood. It’s a crash course in entrepreneurship. Behind the smiles and boxes of cookies lie real pressures: long hours, ambitious sales goals, and the weight of high expectations.”
In a statement about the project, Meghan spoke about her time selling cookies as a Girl Scout.
“As a former Girl Scout myself and my mother as a troop leader, I have a personal affinity for this film, and I’m proud that all of our conversations and collaborations led to Archewell Productions partnering with this award-winning team to executive produce this incredibly compelling documentary,” she said.
