‘Rivals’ star François Arnault has responded to Miley Cyrus, saying he’s “very excited” to be providing music for the second season of the hit HBO Max/Crave show.
Cyrus exclusively told me Saturday night at the Palm Springs International Film Festival gala that she plans to sing the song for them, even though she hasn’t seen the show yet.
“Oh, I’m so curious, please make a reservation! Please make a reservation!” she said.
“I think we might get a slightly bigger budget for Season 2, but I don’t know if we’ll get Miley’s budget,” Arnaud said at the Critics’ Choice Awards on Sunday.
But, he added, “I think if she sees the show, she might give me a discount.” (See Arnault’s full interview at the beginning of this article.)
Last week, rumors swirled that Cyrus was a fan of the show after she apparently liked a post on social media about “Heated Rivalry.” “I haven’t seen it yet, but it’s on my to-do list,” she said. “That’s all I’ve heard. Every conversation I’ve had today started with the words, ‘You (must) see it.'”
Arnaud also talked about what he would like to see from his character Scott Hunter and his boyfriend Kip (who plays Robbie GK) in Season 2. “I want them to face the ongoing challenge of being with someone who is a super famous person and is being forced into it, even though they didn’t choose it at all,” he said.
Arnaud joked, “I think Kip should stop training for the second season. That’s what I want to see. Like, he’s the smoothie boy. Why does he have the best body of all of us?”
Sorry, Baby director and star Eva Victor also revealed on the Critics’ Choice carpet that she’s a fan of Rivals.
“I was sweating when I saw him,” she said, looking at Alanud under the carpet.
Of the series, she said, “I’m just dying for it. It’s the most sexually interesting thing I’ve ever seen in my life…On a mental level, it’s sexually interesting and very tantalizing.”
Victor continued, “I was so happy when they said they wanted to go to the cottage. I’ve never been so completely okay with my life mentally.”
