Hollywood awards season is officially in full swing with the announcement of the 2026 Golden Globe nominations.

Marlon Wayans and “Matlock” star Skye P. Marshall announced the nominations early Monday, honoring both film and television.

Leading the way for this year’s film nominations is One Battle After Another, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, with nine nominations, including Best Picture (Drama), Best Director for Paul Thomas Anderson, and Best Acting for DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Teyana Taylor, Chase Infinity, and Benicio Del Toro.

In the television category, “The White Lotus” topped the list with six awards, including best drama series, with nominations for actors Walton Goggins, Jason Isaacs, Carrie Coon, Parker Posey and Amy Lou Wood.

The biggest snub this morning was in the Best Musical or Comedy category, which surprisingly excluded “Wicked: For Good.”

The film managed to garner rave reviews for its two lively performances by Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande. Erivo made Globe nomination history, becoming the first black woman to be nominated twice for Best Actress in a Comedy/Musical.

Euphoria star Jacob Elordi earned two nominations for both film and television. One was Best Supporting Actor for his role as Creature in Frankenstein, and the other was for his silver screen work in the mini-series The Road to the North.

Meanwhile, Elordi’s “Euphoria” co-star Sidney Sweeney missed out on a nomination for her performance as boxer Christy Martin in the sports drama “Christie.”

Glen Powell also received surprising acclaim for his role as a star quarterback in the Hulu comedy “Chad Powers.”

In addition to the newly announced nominations, the Globes will award two prestigious special awards to Helen Mirren and Sarah Jessica Parker in a new Golden Eve primetime special to air on January 8, 2026 on CBS and Paramount+.

Mirren will receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award, which honors Hollywood’s greatest talent, which previously went to Meryl Streep, Denzel Washington, and Oprah Winfrey.

Meanwhile, Parker will be presented with the Carol Burnett Award for “outstanding contributions to television,” with previous recipients including Ellen DeGeneres, Ted Danson and Burnett herself.

The 83rd Golden Globe Awards, hosted by comedian Nikki Glazer, will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at 5:00 PM PT and will be broadcast on CBS and Paramount+.
