It’s not like she has it against him.
Page Six has confirmed that Britney Spears tried to convince Sean Preston to spend the holidays with her and her brother Jaden in California.
However, a source told Us Weekly on Tuesday that the 20-year-old “chose not to meet her” because he “wasn’t ready to meet her halfway” and that the Princess of Pop felt “really hurt.”
Instead, Spears’ eldest son vacationed in Louisiana with his grandmother Lynn Spears, aunt Jamie Lynn Spears, and other loved ones.
The 44-year-old “Toxic” singer later satirized his estranged family in an Instagram post, writing, “Late Christmas to my beautiful family who have never disrespected me, never hurt me, never done anything completely unacceptable to me, never caused me incredible trauma that can’t be repaired.”
Sean Preston reportedly thought Christmas in Louisiana “would be a nice way to spend it” because he “feels so comfortable being with my grandmother, cousins and family.”
As for his brother, the 19-year-old spent an “amazing” and “beautiful” Christmas with his mother in Los Angeles on Thursday.
“They laugh a lot and have grown closer together than they have in a while,” the outlet claimed. “It strengthened their bond.”
The pair reportedly “ate some really good glazed ham, watched movies, hung out, and listened to music,” and visited with “a few close family friends.”
Britney’s representatives have not yet responded to Page Six’s request for comment.
Both children publicly distanced themselves from her in 2022, but she reconciled with Jaden last year.
He has appeared on Britney’s Instagram multiple times in recent months.
The Grammy Award winner plans to “get together more often” with her two sons next year, US Weekly reported on Tuesday.
The “Crossroads” star believes that “eventually I would like to take a family trip together and just do normal family activities, like going shopping and eating out.”
“Their relationship has gotten much easier since the boys turned 18,” the source said, adding that it was “up to her and the boys how their relationship progresses going forward.”
Sean Preston is said to still be going through “difficult times” as he feels “isolated” around his mother, but both are reportedly “very committed” to “solving” their issues.
Britney was married to ex-husband Kevin Federline from 2004 to 2007, and they welcomed two sons together.
While promoting her bombshell memoir, You Thought You Knew, Federline said last month that Sean Preston and Jaden were “trying to find a way to repair” their bond with their mother.
“They really love their moms, don’t they?” he said in an interview on “Talk Shop Live” in November. “So that’s what they always have, always will do. It’s instilled in them.”
