Earlier this month, Duchess Kate and Princess Charlotte performed a surprise piano duet at the fifth annual ‘Together At Christmas’ carol service.
The 43-year-old mother-of-three shared a clip of herself performing Erland Cooper’s ‘Holm Sound’ with her 10-year-old daughter via social media after the UK’s ITV broadcast on Wednesday at 2:25pm ET.
“The essence of Christmas is about love in full bloom in the simplest and most human way,” Duchess Kate said on her Instagram Reel.
“Not an act of sentimentality or grandeur, but a gentle act, a moment of listening, a word of comfort, a friendly conversation, a helping hand. A presence. These simple acts of caring may seem small, but they contribute to the beautiful tapestry of life to which we all belong,” she continued.
Middleton previously teased the emotional moment in a separate post shared to the Prince and Princess of Wales’ official Instagram account hours before the broadcast.
The short clip showed the piano before the camera panned to reveal Middleton’s hands (identifiable by her sapphire engagement ring) gripping the keys. Shortly after, a small hand joined her.
“A special duet…” the caption of the post read.
In addition to Princess Charlotte’s special moment with her mother, the young royal shared another notable moment with the whole family at this year’s event, with Princess Charlotte and her brothers Prince George, 12, and Prince Louis, 7, catching everyone’s attention with this personal gesture.
Three brothers were photographed adding handwritten notes with their names to a long red paper chain used to decorate the event’s Christmas tree outside Westminster Abbey.
The photo also showed Middleton and her husband Prince William watching their children take part in Christmas festivities.
They all wore coordinated outfits for the occasion, with the boys wearing navy blue suits and white shirts for the occasion.
Charlotte wore a navy blue dress with a white collar. Meanwhile, Middleton wore a winter green coat dress that matched Prince George’s tie. Louis’ tie featured shades of both green and blue.
The Prince and Princess of Wales were also joined by Kate Middleton’s parents, Carole Middleton and Michael Middleton, her brother James Middleton and sister-in-law Alizée Thevene.
Other members of the royal family also appeared, including Princess Margaret’s daughter, Lady Sarah Chatto. Zara Tindall and husband Mike Tindall, Lord Frederick Windsor and his wife Sophie Winkelmann, and daughters Maud (12) and Isabella (9) will also be there.
