North West made his Instagram debut on December 20th. Her first two posts show her looking playful and stylish, including one posing with a peace sign and another with bright blue hair. According to her profile, the account is “managed by her parents.”
North West officially has an Instagram. On Saturday, the 12-year-old eldest child of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West opened her account by posting a soft-focus photo taken in a dimly lit space. In the photo, North makes a peace sign with both hands, a subtle nod to her mother’s signature pose. She styled her look with a Balenciaga graphic T-shirt, miniskirt, boots, and slicked back hair. She captioned the image, “First post.”
Her profile profile states that the account is “managed by her parents.” Within hours, North had attracted hundreds of thousands of followers, including the Kardashians and Kris Jenner. For now, she has left her “following” list empty.
The second post arrived the next day. This time, North hid her face under her hands and an oversized, bouffant hat, with flashes of bright blue hair peeking out. She kept the caption short and simply added the emoji “🔜”.
Although this is her first personal Instagram page, North already has a strong digital presence. She regularly appears on the joint TikTok account she shares with Kardashian, where she posts light-hearted dance videos with family and friends.
The Instagram debut follows previous public comments in which West criticized the presence of children on social media. Kardashian and West also share children Saint, 10, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6, but their marriage ended in 2022.
North’s rise to online fame goes hand in hand with her experimental approach to fashion and beauty, from bold hairstyles and bleached eyebrows to fake earrings. Earlier this month, she addressed the backlash against finger piercings by lip-syncing to a viral audio clip, adding an on-screen message that read, “This is for everyone who’s mad about finger piercings.”
Kardashian has publicly supported her daughter’s creative instincts. “I’m like, ‘Baby, if you want blue hair, that’s it,'” she said on the Call Her Daddy podcast in October. “It makes her so happy. I’ll never take that creativity away from her.”
