Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s charity has reportedly lost three staff members as the foundation rebrands.
On Saturday, the Daily Mail reported that former staff, including the charity’s program and operations director Christine Slevin, were fired more than a week ago.
Slevin’s salary was $146,000, according to a 990 tax return obtained by the store.
A spokesperson for Markle, 44, and Harry, 41, denied any staffing changes, telling the Daily Mail:
“This move means that some staff redundancies are inevitable, particularly in junior management roles,” the spokesperson continued.
“I won’t go into any further details about these appointments other than to say that we are honored to work with incredibly talented and caring people who are dedicated to helping others.”
Representatives for the couple could not be reached for comment.
Over the summer, it was reported that Markle and Prince Harry’s team lost former press secretaries Kyle Boulia and Charlie Gipson, as well as two other employees.
Additionally, the Daily Mail reported on Saturday that the charity’s endowment has hit a blowout in 2024, with expenses equivalent to $5.1 million and donations amounting to $2.1 million.
It was reported that $1.25 million in grants were distributed.
The charity brought in $5.73 million in revenue and spent $3.3 million in expenses in 2023, according to documents obtained by Page Six.
The charity found itself in a tough spot again in 2022, with expenses of $2,679,537 exceeding revenue of $2,005,052.
But the “Suits” alum and “Spares” author’s first year with the charity was a success, with $13,005,660 in revenue and $3,987,070 in expenses.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex launched the foundation in 2020, shortly after quitting royal duties and moving to North America.
The charity supports the work of parents and women who are victims of online abuse and focuses on uplifting communities.
On Friday, Markle and Prince Harry announced they were changing the name of their charity from the Archewell Foundation to Archewell Philanthropies.
