Tineke “Tini” Younger is mourning the death of her unborn child.
The popular TikTok chef recently announced on social media that one of his twin daughters, Alia, tragically passed away just weeks before her due date.
“This is not the post I planned to share once my twins were born. Unfortunately, earlier this week, we lost our sweet baby girl Aria (Baby A),” Younger, 24, shared in an emotional post on Facebook and TikTok on Wednesday night.
“We were almost 36 weeks, labor was over, and we were very close to delivering our girls, but then I had placental abruption and lost my sweet baby girl,” she continued.
After sharing the heartbreaking news, Younger confirmed that her other fetus is “very healthy” and “breathing on its own” due to placental abruption.
“Alia will always be blessed because they are both so beautiful. Her sister will know that she is a twin and has a beautiful twin sister,” she said.
Younger, who has amassed more than 10 million followers on TikTok and Instagram, announced that he would be leaving his channel due to sadness over Alia’s death.
“I’m going on vacation, I don’t know how long, but I promise I’ll be back,” she concluded. “I love you guys.”
Younger’s shocking post included several black-and-white photos of her and her husband, Antwan Wright Jr., holding their deceased daughter in the hospital.
According to the Mayo Clinic, placental abruption is a “rare but serious” pregnancy complication that occurs when “the placenta partially or completely detaches from the lining of the uterus before delivery.”
According to the clinic, this problem can reduce or completely cut off the supply of oxygen and nutrients to the baby and cause the mother to bleed profusely.
Younger announced in June that she was pregnant with twins, and then learned at a gender reveal ceremony a month later that she and her husband were expecting twin daughters.
But the TikTok chef’s pregnancy hasn’t stopped her from cooking, and in a pre-holiday chat with PEOPLE, she revealed how she plans to prepare for Thanksgiving despite her baby bump.
“I’m just going to bring a chair,” the influencer told the outlet last month. “I already have a little kitchen stool, but[Thanksgiving]is something I look forward to. Everyone comes to my page for recipes, especially around the holidays for content.”
“I’m going to press on,” Younger added. “Please sit down, that’s my job.”
