Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde are going undercover again for their latest investigation in “Zootopia 2.”

Ginnifer Goodwin (“Once Upon a Time”) and Jason Bateman (“Ozark”) are putting their detective skills to the ultimate test, reprising their roles as Judy and Nick in Disney’s animated sequel.

Instead of pursuing a missing animal’s case, the duo will chase a reptilian mystery that threatens the stability of the animal city of Zootopia. In the sequel, the detectives are joined by a new squad of animated characters as they work to solve yet another case.

Newcomers for “Zootopia 2” include Andy Samberg, David Strathairn, Macaulay Culkin, Brenda Song, Ke Huy Quan, Quinta Brunson, Robert Irwin, Patrick Warburton and many more.

The film will also debut an original song from Shakira, who will reprise her role as Zootopia’s biggest pop star, Gazelle. The singer will perform her new song “Zoo,” which she co-wrote with Ed Sheeran and Blake Slatkin. Among the other returning voices are Idris Elba, Bonnie Hunt, Don Lake, Nate Torrence, Tommy Chong and more.

Here’s a guide to who the voices behind the beloved animated characters of “Zootopia 2.”

Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin)

Goodwin plays Judy Hopps, an optimistic bunny from Bunnyburrow. In the first “Zootopia” film, Judy proves herself as the first rabbit of the Zootopia Police Department. The second film will follow Judy as she is sent on a make or break mission to go face-to-face with Gary De’Snake, a mysterious pit viper. Previously, Goodwin has voiced Fawn in “Tinkerbell and the Legend of the Neverbeast” and has portrayed the role of Snow White in ABC’s “Once Upon a Time.”

Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman)

Bateman plays Nick Wilde, a former con-artist who finds himself thrown into a conspiracy with Judy Hopps. At the end of the first “Zootopia,” Nick changes his ways and becomes the first fox of the Zootopia Police Department, where he works as the partner of Judy Hopps. Bateman has previously starred in comedies such as “Horrible Bosses,” “Game Night,” and has reprised his role as Nick Wilde in Disney’s “Once Upon a Studio.”

Gary De’Snake (Ke Huy Quan)

Ke Huy Quan plays Gary De’Snake, a mysterious pit viper who is being tracked by Judy and Nick throughout Zootopia. While Judy and Nick are trying to solve their latest case, Gary is trying to save his family as they begin to travel to new places in Zootopia. Quan has starred in “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” where he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor and has previously voiced an animated character in “Kung Fu Panda 4.”

Chief Bogo (Idris Elba)

Chief Bogo is the buffalo chief of police at the Zootopia Police Department, where he oversees the safety and concerns of all the citizens of the city. Elba reprises his role from the first “Zootopia” film, and has previously starred in animated projects like “Zootopia+,” “Finding Dory,”  “The Jungle Book” as Shere Khan and the “Sonic the Hedgehog” movies as Knuckles. In live-action, he’s known for his roles in “Luther,” “The Wire” and many more.

Gazelle (Shakira)

An international pop star in Zootopia, Gazelle is a famous singer and mammals rights activist. Shakira reprises her role from “Zootopia,” and has recorded “Zoo,” a new song for “Zootopia 2’s” soundtrack. Outside of her worldwide music career, Shakira has appeared in “Wizards of Waverly Place” and “The Disney Family Singalong: Volume II.”

Mr. Big (Maurice LaMarche)

Maurice LaMarche reprises his role as crime boss Mr. Big in “Zootopia 2.” Though Mr. Big is a small arctic shrew, his reputation lives up to his name. He is an aging mafioso and a feared member of Zootopia’s criminal underworld. LaMarche is best known for voicing characters on “Pinky and the Brain,” “Hey Arnold!,” “Futurama” and other animated series.

Flash Slothmore (Raymond S. Persi)

A fan favorite character, Flash Slothmore is back in “Zootopia 2.” A three-toed sloth who moves and speaks at a glacial pace, Flash is an agent at the Department of Mammal Vehicles alongside other slow-moving sloths. Raymond S. Persi returns to voice the beloved character.

Benjamin Clawhauser (Nate Torrence)

Nate Torrence reprises his role as the cheetah Benjamin Clawhauser in “Zootopia 2.” Officer Clawhauser is a desk sergeant and radio dispatcher at the Zootopia Police Department. His sedentary version of police work has led him to overindulge in food and media, granting him a hefty size and a penchant for popular culture which sometimes comes in handy cracking cases.

Nibbles Maplestick (Fortune Feimster)

Nibbles Maplestick is a beaver living in Marsh Market in Zootopia who finds herself encountering Judy and Nick as they begin their journey throughout the city. Feimster is a comedian who has starred in projects such as “Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar,” “Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie,” and “You’re Cordially Invited.”

Mayor Brian Winddancer (Patrick Warburton)

The current mayor of Zootopia, Mayor Brian Winddancer is a stallion who is a former actor. Winddancer succeeds Leodore Lionheart and Dawn Bellwether, who previously were in the first “Zootopia” film. In addition to dozens of character actor roles across film and TV, Warburton has previously voiced Kronk in “The Emperor’s New Groove” and Buzz Lightyear in “Buzz Lightyear of Star Command.”

Dawn Bellwether (Jenny Slate)

Jenny Slate reprises her role as Dawn Bellwether in “Zootopia 2,” as the character serves time in the city’s prison after the end of the first movie. A small and bubbly sheep, Bellwether was the city’s assistant mayor in the first film and initially presented herself as an ally to Judy. However, in the film’s climax, she’s revealed to be the film’s secret antagonist, having conspired to usurp Mayor Lionheart’s position and make prey animals dominant throughout the city.

Ed Shearin (Ed Sheeran)

Ed Sheeran will make his introduction into the “Zootopia” universe with a cameo appearance as a sheep named Ed Shearin in the sequel. In addition to his role, the singer collaborated with Shakira and Blake Slatkin to create an original song for the film called “Zoo.” Before “Zootopia 2,” Sheeran’s only animated voice-over role was in “The Simpsons” as Brendan Beiderbecke.

Duke Weaselton (Alan Tudyk)

Alan Tudyk will revisit his character, Duke Weaselton, a weasel crook known for selling pirated DVDs. In addition to acting across many movies and TV shows, Tudyk is a prominent voice actor who has played notable roles in several Disney animated films. His voice acting work includes roles in the “Ice Age” movies, “Wreck-It Ralph,” “Moana,” “Superman,” “Frozen,” “Big Hero 6,” “Justice League: War,” “Creature Commandos” and more.

Dr. Fuzzby (Quinta Brunson)

Dr. Fuzzyby is a quokka who assists Judy and Nick as their police partner therapist throughout the sequel. Judy and Nick take “Partners in Crisis” lessons with Fuzzby, hoping to strengthen their partnership. Brunson created and starred in ABC’s “Abbott Elementary” and will star in the animated adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ “Cat in the Hat.”

Robert Furwin (Robert Irwin)

Robert Irwin joins the animated film as the voice behind a new koala character, Robert Furwin, which takes inspiration from the Australian conservationist. An affinity for animals, he’s previously lent his voice to a dingo in an episode of the popular animated children’s TV show, “Bluey.”

Jesús (Danny Trejo)

Character actor Danny Trejo makes his debut in “Zootopia 2,” voicing the plumed basilisk Jesús. Fittingly, plumed basilisks are sometimes referred to as the Jesus Christ lizard for their abilities to run across water.

Yax (Tommy Chong)

Voiced by Tommy Chong, of the legendary comedy duo “Cheech & Chong,” Yax is the laid-back owner of The Mystic Spring Oasis, a place of spiritual retreat in Zootopia. Yax inadvertently provides information for Judy and Nick to solve their case in “Zootopia” and returns in “Zootopia 2.”

Antony (John Leguizamo)

John Leguizamo voices Antony, a giant anteater smuggler who makes his debut as a minor antagonist in “Zootopia 2.” While this is Leguizamo’s first time voicing an anteater, it is far from his first time voicing a pilosan mammal, as he voiced Sid the Sloth in all five “Ice Age” films.

Paul Moldebrandt (Josh Gad)

Josh Gad plays the new ornery mole and Zootopia Police Department IT expert Paul Moldebrandt. Gad’s voice is most recognizable from his role as Olaf the snowman in Disney’s “Frozen” franchise, as well as Louis in “Ice Age: Continental Drift.” His additional voice acting credits include appearances in “Artemis Fowl,” “Monsters vs. Aliens,” “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” and more.

Pawbert Lynxley (Andy Samberg)

Pawbert Lynxley is a lynx from the Lynxley family and the easy-going runt of the family. The Lynxleys are a powerful business family and will do whatever they can to get whatever they want. “SNL” alum Samberg has starred in animated films like the “Hotel Transylvania” films, “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” and Disney’s “Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers.”
