Michelle Obama’s toned figure has already sparked speculation about Ozempic among fans online.
The former first lady recently posted a behind-the-scenes video of her photo shoot with celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz on Instagram, in which she was seen showing off her toned physique.
President Obama posed confidently in a simple yet chic outfit: a gray T-shirt, jeans, and brown suede boots. Her pose subtly revealed her toned stomach.
“@AnnieLeibovitz always knew that photos could say more than just preserve a moment,” Obama captioned the post. “Her book Women did just that, broadening our view of women and the lives they lead through her lens.”
“It was an honor to have Annie photograph us for a new edition that captures the diversity of women today,” she continued. “I hope you’re as inspired as I am.”
President Obama’s significant weight loss has sparked unsubstantiated chatter online that she may be using Ozempic or a similar GLP-1 drug. In response to a post by X asking how he managed to lose weight at the age of 61, one user bluntly replied, “It’s called Ozempic.”
Another user commented: “I imagine Ozempic.” “Or a personal trainer and a strict diet. Well, Ozempic is much easier.”
One user speculated, “I think this is one of the GLP-1 drugs. It certainly helped me when nothing else worked.”
“It’s interesting to see people ‘showing off’ the results without giving credit to the method,” the comment continued. “Taking drugs is not cheating. It’s unfair not to tell the people who are fighting what you did.”
Comments on President Obama’s Instagram posts have since been turned off.
President Obama has never endorsed the use of Ozempic or similar weight loss drugs. Her representative did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Back in 2022, she spoke candidly about weight gain during menopause.
“I’ve never weighed myself. I’m not obsessed with numbers, but when you go through menopause, you slowly gain weight without even realizing it,” she told People.
“We’re all going through menopause where we’re wearing elastic (waist) bands and athleisure wear, and then we look up and the clothes we wore last year don’t fit,” she continued. “You have to be more mindful, not obsessive.”
The mother-of-two spoke again to the magazine about aging and her health in an interview published earlier this month, saying her 60s had been a “wonderful time”.
“My health has always been a priority: what I eat, exercise, and regular doctor visits,” she said, noting that she never misses a mammogram. “I’m doing everything I need to do because I value my health and it allows me to enjoy this time because I’m not in pain, I’m not in pain, I’m not sick. I’m as vibrant as ever.”
