Kandi Burruss is sharing insight into her shocking divorce from her husband of 11 years, Todd Tucker.
On Amazon Live on Monday, the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum, 49, explained that these are “pretty crazy times” for her.
“I’ll be honest with you. I’ve had my ups and downs. Obviously, going through a divorce is never easy. Sometimes you’re cool, you’re moving, you’re mixing, you’re moving, you’re hanging out with your friends,” she said.
“But sometimes I have sad moments. And I’m a Taurus, so I want to keep those moments to myself. When I was on Housewives, I couldn’t keep my upset moments to myself, so people would see me crying, but in real life, in my daily life, I don’t really like to share those moments with the world.”
She filed the paperwork last Friday, but revealed: “This is something that has been in the works for a while.”
She added, “I mean, the hours you see me online (all smiling) don’t mean anything. I’ve been through it, kid. I’ve been through it. Life has kept me alive.”
Burruss said she was holding on “as long as I can” and confessed it was “hard” to read comments on social media about her situation from people who “tell their own story of what’s going on.”
She’s certainly been “all over the place” lately.
But the Grammy winner insisted he has “no regrets” about his 14-year relationship with Tucker, 52, with whom he shares “two amazing, beautiful children”, son Ace, 9, and daughter Blaze, 6.
“Sometimes things don’t work out. That’s the way it is,” she added, noting that the ex-couple’s children are “doing great.”
In fact, Ms. Burruss claimed that she and the producers were on the same page about prioritizing the children by “remaining very friendly” as they “move through this transition.”
“This week, we’re going to spend Thanksgiving (together). … We were both at[Blaze’s recent]birthday party… to support our baby girl, and we’re going to continue that same good energy for our kids. That’s our goal,” she shared.
The musician also told fans who inquired that he would not invite his outspoken mother, Mama Joyce Jones, who never approved of Tucker, to appear on his YouTube series Speak on It because Jones “might talk too much.”
A representative for Mr. Tucker did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
