Jessica Simpson will “never forget” Ashton Kutcher’s one-word response to her virginity reveal.
The singer told Entertainment Tonight over the weekend that when she found out she was a virgin at 22, she immediately asked, “Why?”
At the time, Ms. Simpson replied, “I haven’t met my husband yet.”
The 45-year-old fashion designer met Kutcher, 47, to play Annette, the love interest of his character Michael Kelso, on “That ’70s Show,” set in 2002.
Simpson called herself “very innocent” at the time, explaining: “I wasn’t thinking about other people or their sex lives at all.”
“I’ve always been open,” she joked. “My legs are crossed but open.”
The “Newlyweds” alum’s character had a similar conversation on screen, but Kutcher’s reaction was different.
“What?” his personality blurted out, but then he recovered and said, “Coincidence. Me too.”
Simpson had a good laugh on Saturday when he watched the clip and previous interviews he gave for the guest role.
“I was just filming a scene with Ashton (Michael) and I told him I couldn’t do it because I’m a virgin,” Simpson said at the time.
Kutcher’s representatives have not yet responded to Page Six’s request for comment.
The former reality star has been vocal about abstaining from sex until she married ex-husband Nick Lachey in October 2002.
“My virginity is something I hold strongly,” she told People two years before her wedding in Texas.
“It’s not always easy,” Simpson continued in a 2000 interview. “But I respect that. Being a virgin can be cool and sexy.”
She and Lachey called it quits in 2005, and the “Dukes of Hazzard” star moved on with Eric Johnson.
Simpson and the former NFL player divorced earlier this year and now have three children together: daughter Maxwell, 13, son Ace, 12, and daughter Birdie, 6.
