The Duchess has arrived.
Even if there are only two guests, Meghan’s staff will make royal announcements before she enters the room.
Author Caitlin Greenidge said in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar that Meghan and the Duchess of Sussex moved into a “grand” New York City brownstone owned by one of Markle’s friends.
“When I enter the house, the caretaker announces, ‘Meghan, Duchess of Sussex,’ even though it appears we are the only other people in the house,” Greenidge wrote.
Elsewhere in the interview, Greenidge also said someone reported Markle when she arrived at the La Brea Tar Pits, now a fossil dig site and natural history museum in Los Angeles, to meet with a group of girls from a local STEM school.
“A golf cart comes to a stop, gravel crunching under its tires. ‘The Duchess of Sussex,’ someone in the scrum announces,” Greenidge wrote.
“Meghan appeared in wide-leg trousers, a silk blouse, and small pavé diamond studs by Ukrainian brand Guzema,” he added.
“These are gifts that my husband Prince Harry received during his recent trip to Kyiv with the Invictus Games Foundation.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Markle opened up about giving herself “grace” for mistakes.
“You learn not to do it again,” she said. “Even if everything goes well, you don’t learn from it. If you don’t learn anything, you don’t grow.”
Prince Harry, 41, and Markle, 44, married in May 2018 and retired from royal duties two years later.
The couple, who have son Prince Archie, 6, and daughter Princess Lilibet, 4, currently live in a $14 million mansion in Montecito, California.
Markle and the Duke of Sussex left the royal family, but they and their children were allowed to keep their titles.
In a March interview with People magazine, the “Suits” alum said the Sussex name took on a deeper meaning after becoming a mother.
“I love that it’s something that Archie, Lili,[Harry]and I all have together. It means so much to me,” she said of her family.
“I think as the kids get older, they’re so excited to say, ‘Oh my god, mom and dad, how did you meet?'” Markle continued.
“I think that will happen over time as they grow up, but for now, a big part of our love story is that we share the name Sussex.”
