Film director and producer Sonya V. Kapoor, in partnership with Amrita Mendonza, will launch the M5 Entertainment Global Film Fund, which will make its debut at the inaugural awards ceremony at the National Film Development Corporation of India’s WAVES Film Bazaar initiative. The program represents a commitment to supporting unique filmmaking voices from India and international markets.
The fund focuses on emerging talent and provides support for selected films to gain international recognition. The inaugural M5 Entertainment Global Film Fund Award recognizes projects that demonstrate artistic merit and global resonance and will be presented at the WAVES Film Bazaar Closing Ceremony.
“Filmmakers around the world have stories that deserve global attention,” said Mr. Kapur. “With this fund and our first award, Amrita and I will celebrate creators with strong artistic vision and help their films get the visibility they deserve. This commitment is deeply personal to us: elevating the voices that move culture forward.”
Mendonça added: “We support filmmakers who show extraordinary promise and originality. This award is the first step in building long-term support for creators who are ready to shine on the world stage.”
