Julianne Hough can’t wait to become a mother.
The 37-year-old professional dancer appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show on Wednesday, November 19, and was asked about his brother Derek Hough, who is currently expecting his first child with wife Haley Erbert. Julian said while he was excited for his brother, he was also thinking about his own future.
“So, I became an aunt at 11 years old, because I have three older sisters and they’ve been having children for a long time, but you know, this is the first time my ovaries are screaming,” Julianne admitted.
“I’m ready to be a mother. So being at this stage of my life while he’s having a baby, I’m just looking at it with different eyes,” she continued.

“You know, Derek and I have been very close throughout our lives, growing up and parallel career paths. And I’ve known Hayley since she was 19 years old. So I’ve watched them grow up as this most beautiful couple. They’re such a yin and yang, so balanced with each other. This little kid is going to be the most creative, talented genius on the planet, and Aunt Juju will only support that.”
Hudson joined in, saying he would like to see Julianne become “Mama Juju” in the near future.
“First you have to find love,” Julian replied.
Back in July, Julianne shared congratulations to brother Derek and sister-in-law Hayley via her Instagram Stories after the happy couple announced they were expecting their first child. Julianne reshared the couple’s announcement video and added a sweet message over it via text.
“Baby Huff is so wise in choosing you two as parents 💕,” she wrote. “I love Auntie Juju.”
The Dancing with the Stars alum, 38, and his wife, 30, who tied the knot in August 2023 in Monterey County, California, announced the news of their baby on July 22 with a sweet video on Instagram.
In the heartwarming video, Derek walks up to his wife and the two embrace as they take in the beautiful scenery. As they hugged, Elbert flashed a photo of their ultrasound to the camera, showing them both smiling and swaying in the sunlight.
“I can’t believe the biggest thing that happens to us is so small ♥️,” the couple captioned their joint video post.
The couple’s announcement comes after Derek opened up to E! News in September 2024 about how he and his wife were looking forward to expanding their family dance crew with several young children.
“We definitely want to have a family eventually,” he told the outlet. “Let’s see what’s in the cards and what’s on the horizon. There are little children running around doing little dances.”
