Simpson has had a fairly public life as the younger sister of pop star Jessica Simpson. She is also married to musician Pete Wentz, with whom she has a son, Bronx Mowgli. Ross is no stranger to the spotlight as a musician, actor, and son of music icon Diana Ross.
They didn’t shy away from it and shot to fame on one season of the reality show Ashlee + Evan on E! They also released several songs in 2018, including the romantic track “Paris.”

July 2013
The two met at a friend’s birthday party in 2013 and shared Ashley and Evan’s story in 2018.
“We met at a friend’s birthday party,” Simpson explained. “When Evan came in, he was really cute and I thought, ‘Who is this Mr. Cool Pants?'”
Ross interjected, “You were trying to dance with me. I think you were trying to show that you were a better dancer than me by lifting your legs and stuff.”
“We became good friends,” she recalled, and Ross added, “We kind of whiffed.”
“That was the best dry humping of my life. I gave it my all,” he continued.
Although they have been frequently spotted in July 2013, they made their first public appearance at Jessica Simpson’s Fall 2013 campaign event in New York City.
January 2014
They announced their engagement on social media in January 2014. Ross wrote on X, then known as Twitter, “The love of my life said yes!!!!!!”
August 2014
The two married on August 31 of the same year at Diana Ross’s home in Connecticut. Simpson reportedly wore a crop top, lace skirt and Neil Lane jewelry. Princess Diana surprised the guests with her song “Endless Love” at the reception. Simpson’s son, Bronx, walked her down the aisle.
December 2014
At the end of the year, the couple confirmed with E! News that she is pregnant with her first child.
July 2015
Their daughter, Jagger Snow, was born on July 30, 2015.
June 2018
The couple launched a unisex clothing line with Zadig et Voltaire, named after their daughter.
“I love dressing Jaguar. It’s so much fun!” Simpson said of her 3-year-old son. “If she doesn’t like something, she’ll check it in the mirror and tell me.”
September 2018
They released the song “I Do”, the lead single from their joint EP under the name ASHLEE + EVAN.
Their E! The show premiered on September 9th. That month, they spoke to People magazine about how they’re keeping their marriage together.
“We are very different, but we understand each other and we care for each other,” Ross said. “We know how to work together to get through whatever we have to go through. And she’s too hot to be mad at!”
Simpson added, “We don’t get attached to things, so that’s good. I love to keep that glamorous part alive and fun. But with Evan, I don’t have to try. He’s the most handsome and fun guy ever. He makes me feel so great about myself.”
She also praised Ross as a father, saying he was “the sweetest father.”
“I felt it in him when we first started dating. The kids love him,” she continued.
Simpson said they were “a little hesitant about doing the show.”
“But we wanted to showcase our music and we wanted people to know about us. And it took a long time for me. I’ve definitely grown as a person.”
Ross said of their creative process, “We write together. It’s definitely the two of us. And we work really well together, which is great.”
April 2020
The couple announced in April 2020 that they were pregnant again, sharing a now-deleted photo of a positive pregnancy test. “We’re pregnant and so excited to share this with you all. Baby #3,” Simpson captioned the photo.

Their son, Ziggy Blue, was born on October 29, 2020.
November 2020
The couple shared a photo with all of their children on Bronx’s 12th birthday. In the image, they are sitting poolside while Simpson holds Ziggy.
March 2021
Ross spoke with Simpson about parenting during the pandemic lockdown.
“Overall, we have to remember how lucky we are in the sense that we get to experience moments like this that we might not have had the same way if we were working,” he said. “I have to shoot something in London in a few days, so it’s going to be hard to go home…It’s a bonding experience for everyone.”
He added that it’s “about being a team.”

The couple talked about stealing each other’s clothes while attending New York Fashion Week.
“So when I feel like I’m out of my own closet, I’m in his closet,” Simpson said.
He added: “She started stealing from my closet more.”
She agreed and said, “Yes, he has a great collection of coats, so I’m definitely up there.”
They also discussed their upcoming anniversary.
“We have big things planned for the end of the year,” she said. “Today is our 10th anniversary, I’m turning 40 and my son is 16. We always celebrate and have the best time, but I feel like it doesn’t have to be just that day. Finding those moments is what my husband does best.”
She added, “I feel like if he doesn’t have a little time,[he]will take me to a hotel. Or[if]we go to Kidsland, he’ll surprise me with some nice time just the two of us. That would be great.”

Just before their 10th wedding anniversary, Simpson spoke to People magazine about why she thinks they have a long-lasting marriage.
“I mean, we love each other,” she said. “I think the secret is that we’ve grown together. And if you can grow together and watch us all change and evolve and come together, I think that’s probably the key to everything.”
