MD Productions has released the first trailer of the action drama ‘Kaan Tumhara’ starring Bilal Ashraf (‘Janaan’, ‘Superstar’) and Maya Ali (‘Teefa in Trouble’, ‘Mann Mayal’, ‘Diya-e-Dil’). The drama aims to improve the standards of Pakistani film production through international cooperation.
Directed by Ehteshamuddin (Superstar, Udaari, Sadqai Tumhare) from a screenplay by Mustafa Afridi and produced by Momina Duraid (Parwaaz Hai Junoon, Superstar, Sakkai Tumhare) of MD Productions along with Ashraf and Ehteshamuddin of Beehive Transmedia.
The project is a blend of action sequences, romance, and drama, centered around Yusuf Khan, a character who navigates power, love, and revenge.
The film employs multiple international staff members for action sequences, with the team led by Nick Khan (Marvel’s Eternals) and Hussein Abdullah (Skyfall). The film crew traveled to Pakistan to film the sequences and provide months of training to the local crew.
Principal photography lasted approximately 70 days for the action sequences alone. Ashraf performed the stunts himself without the use of a body double and suffered multiple injuries during filming. Ali also prepared thoroughly for the role.
“For years, Pakistani films have toyed with action, but we have never really shown it,” said Ehteshamuddin. “‘Khan Tumhara’ is our answer to that hesitation. Yusuf Khan is not a hero you cheer from a safe distance. He is a man who drags you into the dust, where love is a scar, power is poison, and revenge is the only prayer left. This is our story, told in our sweat, our scars, and our stubborn refusal to look away.”
Ashraf further added, “This was more than just a film. This was a lifelong craft education paid for in blood, sweat and tears. This became the standard by which I will judge every project I do from now on. This journey is dedicated to my late mother and sister and I am forever grateful to everyone who took part in this project.”
Visual effects were handled by Softmatrix’s Haider, and post-production was designed to meet international standards.
Producer Duraid said, “‘Khan Tumhara’ has something for everyone. It is a blend of action, romance and comedy. It provides complete family entertainment for all age groups.”
Ali further added, “Some projects really stick in your heart and Khan Tumhara is one of them. From planning to packing, I had the privilege of witnessing this journey from close quarters. , I had the pleasure of working with the amazing Bilal Ashraf, who is a wonderful human being and now an extraordinary producer. I am extremely proud to be a part of this film and can’t wait for you to experience the action and emotion.” This Eid al-Adha is ‘Khan Tumhara’. ”
The film’s soundtrack includes songs in Urdu, Punjabi, and Pushto, with the aim of appealing to a diverse audience across Pakistan.
Khan Tumhara is scheduled to be released in May 2026, in time for the Eid-ul-Adha holiday period. MD Productions and Behive Transmedia are handling distribution arrangements.
