CBS’ Elsbeth has begun its third season with more guest stars on the way, including Steve Buscemi (currently on Wednesday), Hamish Linklater (Generation V) and recent Emmy winner Jeff Hiller (Somebody Somewhere).
On “Elsbeth,” which returns for season 3 starting Oct. 12 and airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET, Buscemi plays Simon, who is described as “a five-time crossword winner and favorite to win again this year. An eccentric perfectionist who engages in a deadly battle with Puzzle’s longtime editor over pop culture tips and a female contestant.”
Hiller will play Felix, “one of New York’s major wig companies and the top wig manufacturer in the city. Tasked with making wigs for Wall Street executives and medical patients, Felix dreams of a more glamorous job. His ambition leads him to make some really bad decisions, and one of his rivals ends up dead.”
Linklater will play Archer Bryant, a “tech entrepreneur-turned-fitness fanatic whose quest for eternity requires a strict diet, exercise, medication, sleep regime and, in some cases, murder.”
It looks like Elsbeth Tascioni (Carrie Preston), Captain CW Wagner (Wendell Pierce), and the team have a lot of work ahead of them. Don’t worry, “Elsbeth” is already here in Season 3, Episode 6 this week. This is a network procedure, so there is still a lot to do.
Dear guests, how are you doing? Buscemi is known for her roles in films such as “Reservoir Dogs,” “Fargo” and “The Big Lebowski,” and on television for “Boardwalk Empire,” “Miracle Workers,” and “The Sopranos.” He’s currently starring in Season 2 of Netflix’s “Wednesday” and just shot Martin McDonagh’s next film, “Wild Horses Nine,” at Searchlight.
Hiller won the Emmy Award for Best Supporting Comedic Actor for “Somebody Somewhere” and will next be seen in the NBC comedy “Stumble” and the upcoming Apple TV series “Widow’s Bay.” He has written a memoir, Actress of a Certain Age, and recently had a one-man show, Jeff Hiller is Basic, performed at Joe’s Pub at the Public Theater.
Linklater just finished filming the Netflix thriller The Whisper Man and is currently starring in the feature film The Big Bold Beautiful Journey. He also received critical acclaim for his work on Prime Video’s “Gen V” Season 2.
Based on the character first introduced in The Good Wife and The Good Fight, Elsbeth tells the story of Chicago defense attorney Elsbeth Tascioni, who moves to New York to work as a consent decree attorney and uses her intuitive insights to work with the NYPD to track down New York’s murderers. CBS Studios supports the show.
Robert King, Michelle King, Jonathan Tolins, Liz Glotzer, Erica Shelton Kodish, Brian Goluboff, and Gail Ballinger will serve as executive producers, with Tolins serving as showrunner. Robert and Michelle King co-created the series.
