Meghan Markle teased that she took an eight-year hiatus from acting while filming Close Friends.
“She joked that she felt a little rusty,” a source told People on Monday.
“But obviously she rehearsed and it was a big deal to have her come back. And she was great.”
The source further said that Markle arrived on the movie set at Amazon MGM Studios and “introduced herself as ‘Meghan.'”
“Everything about her was so sweet and gentle,” the source said. “She seemed really excited to go on set.”
The 44-year-old “Suits” alum was said to be “a lot of fun to be around” and had “a really warm energy.”
Markle’s representatives did not immediately respond to Page Six for comment.
The Duchess of Sussex looked in good spirits as she arrived on set for a movie shoot in Pasadena, California, last week.
She was all smiles as she got into her car to film a poolside scene.
Markle, who plays herself in the film, looked chic in a blue and white button-up shirt and white pants.
The plot of this movie revolves around a couple who become friends with a famous couple.
Her co-stars include Jack Quaid, Lily Collins, and Brie Larson.
Markle’s return to acting will be eight years after she took a step back from Hollywood following her engagement to Prince Harry in 2017.
The actress’ last role was on Suits, where she played Rachel Zane for seven seasons from 2011 to 2018.
Her other credits include “Remember Me” (2010) and “Horrible Bosses” (2011).
