Jennifer Lawrence didn’t use intimacy coordinator for Robert Pattinson’s sex scene

Jennifer Lawrence appeared on the podcast Las Culturistas during the press tour for Die My Love and revealed that she didn’t have to use an intimacy coordinator while filming the film’s sex scenes with co-star Robert Pattinson. Directed by Lynne Ramsay, the psychodrama stars Lawrence as a woman who falls into psychosis after the birth of her child. Pattinson plays the main character’s husband, who becomes increasingly useless.

“We didn’t have[an intimacy coordinator]or maybe we did, but we didn’t really… I felt really safe with Rob,” Lawrence told the podcast host. “He’s not a snob and he loves[partner]Suki Waterhouse very much. We mostly talked about kids and relationships. There was never any weird stuff like, ‘Does he think I like him?'” If there’s any of that, there’s probably an intimacy coordinator. Many male actors get offended if they don’t want to have sex, and then the punishment begins. He wasn’t that kind of person. ”

Lawrence, whose performance in “Die My Live” received worldwide acclaim and was the subject of an Oscar nomination, also appeared nude in the film, which was filmed while she was pregnant with her second child. During a recent screening of the film (via Vulture), the Oscar winner said that he allowed himself to get naked in front of the camera without giving any thought to what he would look like. This was a change of pace from when Lawrence went all out in the R-rated comedy “No Hard Feelings” and worked out hard before filming.

“I don’t care about nudity. I’m not sensitive about nudity,” Lawrence said. “I wanted to give Lynn complete artistic freedom…I think being pregnant took away a lot of my worries about vanity and things like that.”Before No Hard Feelings, I was dieting and working out without eating carbs. I was pregnant. What was I going to do? I was working 15 hours a day. I just remember being sent a close-up of my cellulite and being like, ‘Are you okay?’ And I said, “No.” That’s terrible. ”

“Die My Love” will be released in theaters on Mubi on November 7th. You can listen to Lawrence’s full interview on the podcast “Las Culturistas” here.
