“There were various times during Season 5 and maybe even before that,” she said, adding, “I can remember several seasons where I almost walked away.”
She continued, “But 15 years is a long time, and there are things I want to do, and it takes a lot of time. And[my youngest daughter]Portia is going to college, so you never know.”
Richards previously opened up about the challenges of appearing on the popular reality show, pointing out that living life under a microscope can be difficult.
“I mean, it’s a very difficult thing in your life when you go out there and the world is watching you analyze things and you have people who don’t know you know the full range of details,” she told PEOPLE while attending the Women’s Cancer Research Foundation’s “An Unforgettable Night” event in Beverly Hills, Calif., in April.
“And it’s very difficult to judge you without being able to explain everything. So it depends on the year and season whether I can handle it or not,” she added.
While speaking with PEOPLE at a recent Raging Browse event, Richards also provided an update on her friend and former RHOBH castmate Teddi Mellencamp, 44. She recently revealed that her stage 4 cancer is in remission.

“Teddy has improved a lot,” Richards says.
“She posted on her Instagram story that she doesn’t have cancer, so we just keep praying and make sure she stays on that path. And she gets down a lot, so sometimes, to be honest, she picks herself up and helps him. Sometimes we just drag her out of the house, when she really doesn’t want to do anything, when she’s feeling down. And we just show up and say, ‘No, I’m going to get some frozen yogurt,’ or, ‘I’m going to go for a walk.’ ”
