Sidney Sweeney has denied romance rumors but gushed about his “beautiful” relationship with Glen Powell.
“Glenn and I really care about each other and have love and respect for each other,” the actress, who co-starred with Powell in the 2023 romantic comedy “Anyone But You,” told Variety in an interview published Monday.
“I love being with him, and I think people really saw a really beautiful pairing.”
Sweeney, 28, also addressed whether she and Powell, 37, were leaning into romance rumors while promoting the Will Gluck-directed film.
“Honestly, the press did it themselves. There was no leaning in, per se,” she told the outlet. “Just standing next to each other was like, ‘We’re standing two inches apart!'”
The “Euphoria” star revealed that she is open to filming the sequel, saying that if the “concept and script” are right, she and the actor will “jump hand-in-hand.”
“We always embrace that,” Sweeney said.
In 2023, Sweeney got engaged to ex Jonathan Davino, and fans speculated about the chemistry between the White Lotus star and Powell on set, even though Sweeney was dating ex-girlfriend Gigi Paris.
Powell and Paris broke up during the filming of the movie, further spreading the rumors.
Since then, Sweeney has repeatedly denied romance rumors, telling Variety magazine that same year that “sometimes I feel defeated by it.”
“It’s hard to just sit and watch and not be able to stand up for yourself,” she added.
But Paris recently gave fans an inside look at her breakup with Powell, admitting that she was “devastated” by the alleged romance chatter between Powell and Sweeney when she decided to part ways with the “Hitman” star.
“You can pretend like you’re in agreement with everything and have everyone wonder, ‘Are they dating? Are they not dating? Is she okay with this? Oh my god,'” she explained on the Too Much podcast in June 2025.
Paris revealed that she ultimately “had to stand up for herself,” adding, “[I said]’No, I can actually walk away because I’m not okay with this. So that’s what I’m going to do.'”
She also criticized Mr. Powell for never mentioning the chatter or for saying he would “never cheat on (his) girlfriend.”
“That’s all that had to be said. And it wasn’t said. It never was,” the influencer continued, noting that the ex-lover and Sweeney leaned into the rumors for PR.
Meanwhile, Powell addressed Paris’ comments in September, telling GQ, “Everybody’s always going to have their own story about things and everything, and she welcomes that.”
