Britney Spears was not drunk during her much-talked-about night out last Wednesday, according to the restaurant manager who attended to her.
The pop star and a female friend were photographed driving erratically on their way home after dining at Red O in Westlake, California, sparking serious concern.
Spears reportedly acted strangely at the restaurant, including knocking over glasses and making strange toasts before getting behind the wheel. However, the restaurant manager who served Spears and his friend said that was not an act he had personally witnessed.
“She was very chill and really kind,” Oliver Wynn, general manager of an upscale Mexican restaurant chain in Westlake, Calif., told Us Weekly. “She just hung out, took a bite and left.”
Wynn said Spears didn’t order alcohol with her quesadilla because she was “not drunk,” but a fan bought her a glass of wine.
“Britney was chatting with friends and fans the entire time,” he said of the visit, which lasted less than an hour. “They were very talkative.”
According to Wynn, the “Toxic” singer was kind to his fans and took photos and videos with them.
“I was impressed because she was a really nice person,” he said. “I’ve worked at other restaurants frequented by many celebrities, but I’ve never seen one as nice as Britney.”
Spears’ representatives did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Spears addressed the video of her dangerous driving on Instagram on Saturday, writing, “In case anyone was wondering if that lookalike wasn’t me…🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤓.”
She did not specifically mention the video, which featured a graphic of Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck hugging, in her post.
According to the Daily Mail, the Grammy-winning singer’s family is extremely worried about her following the incident and is holding crisis talks on how best to help her.
“There are a lot of concerns. Everyone has always wanted what’s best for her, and she’s now showing that she’s making the wrong choices,” a source told the outlet.
“It’s scary,” the source continued. “So there’s a lot of discussion about what to do if something were to happen. How can we protect her from herself?”
Spears made headlines because of her ex-husband Kevin Federline’s memoir, “You Thought You Knew,” which exposed serious accusations against the pop star.
She has hit back at his claims, with a spokesperson for Federline previously saying he was “profiting off of her” after child support for her two sons, Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, was terminated.
