Sweet Shizu! Glinda and Elphaba are getting the “brickification” treatment courtesy of LEGO’s new feature.
With less than a month left until Wicked: For Good hits theaters on November 21st, Lego has released a live version of a behind-the-scenes featurette titled “Wicked: For Good Sets (official LEGO bricks)” starring Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda. But this time, they have been transformed into Lego blocks along with the world of Oz.
“Wicked: For Good” is based on the second act of the musical and depicts how Elphaba and Glinda’s friendship is tested and their actions change their lives and Oz forever.
As well as the live-action trailer, audiences get a glimpse of Dorothy, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion, voiced by Coleman Domingo.
“‘Wicked: For Good’ is even bigger and about the consequences of the difficult choices you make,” Lego director Jon M. Chu says in the video.
The Lego version of Elvio is also seen singing part of “No Good Deed” in the Forest of Oz. The actress teases, “The journey they take in the second movie is chilling.”
Meanwhile, Lego Grande also talks about how “For Good” will be done as it tests the two characters. she says: “You’ll see how far you can take this friendship and how many challenges this relationship can withstand.”
This feature highlights how Lego has recreated the world of the film, including sets such as The Yellow Brick Road, Emerald City, and Glinda’s Apartment.
Chu promises that the sequel will be even bigger than its predecessor. He says, “There’s more action, more flying, more reveals, more drama.”
