Gia Giudice hopes her estranged family can make up for it.
The “Special Forces: The World’s Toughest Test” star weighed in on the possibility of a reconciliation between his mother Teresa Giudice and brothers-in-law Joe and Melissa Gorga while chatting with Page Six Radio on Tuesday.
Zia admitted she doesn’t know if there is a plan moving forward, but believes it is possible to achieve a “state of well-being” and “peace for all.”
She mentioned how she watched her mother and father Joe Giudice make amends for their daughters after their 2020 divorce. Seeing them remain close gives hope to Teresa and Gorgas’ broken relationship.
“Obviously, my mom and dad are divorced and I have a very close relationship with my dad’s side,” she explained.
“So I think that’s why me and my sisters know it’s possible,” she continued. “Even if your parents aren’t best friends or things don’t work out, there’s still a way and room for a relationship.”
The TV personality, 24, also revealed that the feud has spread to the younger generation and that she no longer has a relationship with her cousins. She called her estrangement from her cousin “definitely unfortunate.”
Gia explained that repairing the rift between her mother and the Gorgas family may be even more difficult because of the tension between them after co-starring on The Real Housewives of New Jersey. (“RHONJ” has been on hiatus from filming since last year.)
“Unfortunately, I think things were a little different because of all the hoopla on ‘Housewives.’ It was just tougher,” she said.
“I don’t blame either of us for not being able to maintain our relationship. I know it’s been difficult. I just hope there can be peace and some clarity between the two of us.”
The host of the Casual Chaos podcast also admitted that he doesn’t like how the show’s fans are divided into “teams” based on feuds, even calling themselves “Team Judith” and “Team Golga.”
“That’s very stupid, because at the end of the day, people basically just want families to stay broken,” she said.
Teresa, 53, gave Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” an update on a possible reunion with her brother and sister-in-law earlier this month, insisting she was ready to move on from their feud.
“Time always heals, because with time you forget. For example, when the first thing happened, you were angry,” explained Teresa, who agreed to a joint interview with Gia.
“But now…I’ve been married for three years. So it’s been three years. He didn’t come to my wedding, so we haven’t talked in three years,” she said, referring to her 2022 wedding to Luis Ruelas, which Joe and Melissa were notably absent from.
“I can’t talk about the past, because I really can’t because talking about the past won’t get you anywhere,” she continued, adding, “All I say is move forward because I don’t think talking about the past will get you anywhere.”
Viewers of the Bravo series have been watching Teresa feud with her brother and Melissa for more than a decade, but fans finally saw a glimmer of hope last month when the author of Standing Strong pried open the door for the trio to reconcile.
When Teresa was asked on “Jeff Lewis Live” if there was a world in which she could “coexist” with Joe and Melissa, she replied, “Never say never.”
Melissa, 46, hit back at her sister-in-law’s “bizarre” confession just days later on Page Six’s Virtual Reality Awards, where she insisted the Envy owner “closed the door.” Melissa also revealed that she and Joe have “no contact” with Teresa “in probably two years at this point,” so her feelings seemed to come “out of nowhere.”
Joe, 51, had a different reaction to his sister earlier this month, admitting he would “forgive” her, conditionally.
“If I’m going to sit down with her and hear her story, it has to be very humbling. It has to come from a humble place,” he said on the Oct. 14 episode of the podcast “The Eds.”
“It has to be genuine, saying, ‘I made a mistake,’ and (then) we can move forward,” he said.
Joe confirms that Teresa has sent him an email asking to meet, and since he is not the kind of person who holds grudges as long as he is responsible, he insists that he wants to hear her side of the story and see her opinion.
“You can hurt me, but as long as you apologize, I’ll accept it,” he shared, calling himself a “pushy.”
Gia stopped by Page Six Radio to promote her appearance on Season 4 of “Special Forces,” airing Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
